Vintage 1930’s? beggar’s bag with accordion-hinged mouth that expands for fillings. engravable top. Interior side pocket. Fully lined in peach silk faille. It is 5” long, chain is 4 or 8” long. Wristlet. The first mesh bag was created by Charles Whiting in 1892 while working for a jewelry manufacturer. He joined the company at age 16. By 1896 he formed a partnership to purchase it, renaming it the Whiting & Davis Company. ❤️
