lavenderfarm I refuse to participate in inflicting pain, misery, suffering, torture on another sentient being, human or non human animal under the false convinient argument of nutrition and good health.

lavenderfarm If I look up to my non human companion for love, companionship, then I choose to not discriminate among them to suit my false prejudices in choosing to eat one while nurturing the other. Dog, Sheep, bird, fish, all are sentient non human beings with a Central Nervous system which has pain receptors and therefore feel pain unlike plants. Do unto others what you would want others to do to you. If you wouldn't want pain, don't inflict pain.

lavenderfarm Thereis a reason why we take our kids apple picking but refrain and recoil at the idea of a visit to a slaughterhouse. If its not Good for our eyes, how come its good for our bodies? Every human and non human animal wants to live, experience this one life on Earth. How do we justify ending a beautiful life for one snack or a meal?
Aug 23Reply

lavenderfarm If we don't drink our Own Mothers milk , how do we justify drinking the milk of another mother? Mothers make milk for their OWN babies. When did suckling off of another mothers mammary gland secretion become acceptable? Why not start with our own mothers first?

lavenderfarm Egg is a period /menstrual product of a hen. Meat is the dead carcass of a once living animal, mindlessly slaughtered. If we see a roadkill or a dead cat in our yard, our first instinct is to respectfully bury it, I have yet to come across someone who will whip out their knives and forks and procceed to eat it instead.

lavenderfarm Calling something free range, humane, grass fed is the wonderfully convenient excuse to mask and molly coddle the conscience of animal product consumers to falsely detach them from the other group who choose to eat cruelty products and to feel like they belong to an elite class who are excused from the guilt of inflicting carnage by hiding under such labels viz free range. There is no humane Robbery or free range robbery. Pain is pain. The animals feel pain no matter how you takes its life.

Let them live alongside of us and let's try to reduce the pain of this world to the best each one of us can.If you don't want pain, don't participate directly or INDirectly in inflicting pain on ANY sentient lives.

lavenderfarm Started with my Mum having severe Hypertension and when she started taking heavy dose of medicine, I started researching about the side effects and was horrified and then I decided, I need to explore more. Mind you, I was eating tubs of icecream, 2 large pizzas in a sitting for lunch and buttered popcorn and all the junk food for dinner. And then my research into health without medicines made me stumble upon Gary Yourofskys "best speech ever" and Earthlings and never looked back.
Aug 28Reply

lavenderfarm @iamjesslj changed my Moms diet plan and made her go strict vegan& gluten free. I also did the same and changed my food habits and Her BP plummeted down like anything.

lavenderfarm @iamjesslj Such a blessing that the Lord opened my eyes to being merciful to non human animals, otherwise, could you imagine living this life without compassion and participating in the atrocities of a non vegan diet?!Scary! !!!
Aug 28Reply
lavenderfarm
lavenderfarm @iamjesslj So true! I was always averse to eating meat since childhood, but was forced and ridiculed to eat animal carcasses saying I d become malnourished if I didn't eat animal carcasses, non human mammary secretions, chicken periods& bee vomit. Have you met Gary Yourofsky?

Aug 28Reply
lavenderfarm
lavenderfarm @iamjesslj oh yes! We are "crazy" for choosing compassion but apparently being Neanderthal is absolutely fine. Have you seen how comical it is when people sit in their suits and act all powerful and cool and then they order charred animal carcasses and label it fancy names like steak and chomp on it? I feel terrible thinking of the poor non human animals that won't walk this earth just cos their lives were ended to make One meal, a meal that ends up clogging and destroying the arteries....

kristenvanness @lavenderfarm you are absolutely correct and I should go back. I do love the vegan cheese and felt so much better when I was 100% plant based. Your closet has tons of information and makes me think and want to be more mindful in my choices. Thank you💙
Sep 22Reply
kristenvanness
kristenvanness @lavenderfarm for eggs we soak chia seeds for 10 minutes as an egg substitute and absolutely love pure maple syrup. We make cashew milk and sweeten the CM with 3 dates and vanilla bean. We make the cashew milk concentrated for cashew cream and the coffee doesn't need to be sweetened. My youngest who is vegan won't even eat figs because she says there are wasp eggs in every fig. Is this a fact?

cammalama Yay for veganism!! ❤️ I was 100% vegan, but started giving in to dairy and eggs when I became pregnant (not because I felt I needed them, or even wanted them.. but because it was getting exhausting to have to bring my own food everywhere) so now I'm in my 2nd trimester, have a bit more energy and trying to get back to 100% vegan. Once you fall off it's so much harder to get back on though 😫 I just need to keep watching documentaries to remind myself why I do it!

cammalama @lavenderfarm I'm basically fully vegan now, it's only hard when I'm at a friends place or at a restaurant. Because I'm pregnant, I need to eat often so if the only thing available has dairy in it, I still eat it /: I'm thinking of investing in some bento boxes so I can bring whole meals when we go to dinners with friends! Do you happen to have any tips for staying vegan in a very non-vegan friendly restaurant/town/very non-vegan friendly friends? :P

I live in the midwest in a pretty small town and don't have any vegan friends!! But so far, it has worked out great for me. My top rescue-me meals have been bananas, dates & avacados. Also you see, I prefer to not eat salt, sugar, oil, anything with gluten, rice etc...So it is definitely more challenging but TBH it has never been that bad..to cotd..
Sep 07Reply
lavenderfarm
lavenderfarm @cammalama i am always taking my own snacks with me and have been blessed with anazing group of friends who always prepare vegan meals alongside for me. I always let people know in advance and to the folks who are new tp me, I shamelessly ask if they have fruits, nuts, tomatoes in their pantry I can snack on.
Sep 07Reply
lavenderfarm
lavenderfarm @cammalama I know this may sound weird but you know what? I love to voiceless-ly challenge people for the uninformed choices they make in extending pain, death, cruelty, suffering, violence to other sentient beings, so am always voicing loud and bold that I am a vegan even if people think I am not being socially pleasing and soft spoken about my choices. If someone was not loud enough, I wouldn't have"heard" the vegan message oh lol.
Sep 07Reply
lavenderfarm
lavenderfarm @cammalama my best tip for myself have been eating a full meal before I head out to restaurants, loading up on bananas, snacks, milk at grocery stores while travelling, keeping larabars at hand, make my own nut&date&fig&dried fruit trail mix and I am known to carry soy milk powder for extended hiking and international travels.

jencita2 Those are amazing, powerful pix. So mind-blowing, clever and insightful. I became vegan 2 years ago when I read the book “Skinny B***h” (which I thot was a diet book, but is more like a “why you should be vegan” book.) But it worked! The stories about the horrific abuse animals face made it VERY easy to give up meat. Plus, the fact that animal agriculture is the leading cause of Global Warming. + every second, an acre of the Amazon is cleared for animal agriculture land. Crazy! ❤️ Jenny

And also, she was eating some Greek yogurt a few weeks ago and took a bite and there was a large piece of a plastic disposable glove that ended up in her mouth!! She was HORRIFIED!...

jencita2 And she almost threw up and now can’t bring herself to eat yogurt anymore. So yeah I think she is right on the edge of going Vegan! So thx again for the video suggestions! Oh and to answer your questions; I write a lot of short stories, both fiction and non-fiction. I am a survivor of the Opiate Epidemic so I have A LOT of very compelling, very horrifying stories of the decade I spent battling addiction...

jencita2 ...(think the movie Requiem for a Dream, I lived it!) And I think it’s my job as a writer and survivor to write openly, honestly and candidly about what the Opiate Epidemic is actually like, in order to remove a lot of the stigma around addiction ya know? I am a Dean’s List student at the best university in WA state, very intelligent, articulate, a writer, a very pretty blonde fashionista who doesn’t look or act like the typical stereotype of a junkie, ya know?...

jencita2 Which is the point; that addiction does not discriminate! So a lot of my writing can be very dark and even difficult to read, but I think it’s important. My first publication was last spring; a poem I wrote called “My Body” and its kinda depressing, although I think it ends kinda hopeful. I would love to send it to you, via email, if you want. If not, I totally understand, just lemme know. Gotta get back to work, ttyl sweetheart! ❤️Jenny💋🍓😜
