Beautiful Brazilian soapstone eagle Sculpture by William Skye a native american carver. It is about 5" wide and 4" high. overall good, there are some knick spots on his beak (see closeup pics). on one side at the bottom there is a spot that is light. it doesnt feel like a scratch. I also made a closeup of that. These are nice collectible pieces. because of the aforementioned, I have set the price lower than you usually see these go for. The bottom is signed and numbered.
The numbers read as follows: 283-SN-4616-31. not sure about the last 2 digits but I think they are 31. Below is a little info on the sculpter:
Willy Skye, also known as Ga'gweniyoh, ("Hanging Moon"), was born on July 15, 1975. Of Iroquois heritage, he belongs to the Snipe Clan of the Seneca Nation, and lives in Ontario. Inspired by friends who were carvers, he began carving when he was sixteen. Willy carves a wide variety of subjects from traditional to contemporary; his favorite images being eagles and bears.
