William Spratling Design Silver Octagon Buttons, Set of 6, c 18.1 grams

Hand Etched Stamped and Hand Cut "Taxco 980" Silver William Spratling Design Buttons. It is not uncommon that Taxco Silver does not have a Makers Mark. The vast majority of the Silversmiths in Taxco are and were anonymous. There is no doubt that these buttons are over 40 years old. They have been in the Carl Lewis Druckman Collection longer than that. They all have some slight differences due to the handmade nature of the pieces. They may have been made in the Taller during after hours. Each button is c 20mm or .75" across and range in weight from circa 2.8 grams to 3.2 grams each. Circa 1940s - 50s. Could Be made into Cufflinks or Earrings!
