William Spratling Silver Octagon Buttons - Set of 5 c 1940s - c 41.5 grams tw - Hand Cut Lightly Polished Patina. Hand Etched Unmarked William Spratling Design Buttons. It is not uncommon that Taxco Silver does not have a Makers Mark. The vast majority of the Silversmiths in Taxco are and were anonymous. There is no doubt that these buttons are over 40 years old. They have been in the Carl Lewis Druckman Collection longer than that. They all have some slight differences due to the handmade nature of the pieces. They may have been made in the Taller during after hours. Each button is c 27mm or 1" across and range in weight from circa 8 grams to 8.4 grams each.
