Rare! in the original box from the Metropolitan Museum of Art 1976 Treasures of Tutankhamun exhibition. This stunning reproduction of the winged cobra goddess, Wadjet, was made with the cooperation of the Organization of Antiquities and curators of the Egyptian Museum, Cairo. The MMA issued a series of reproductions of objects found in the tomb of Tutankhamun - the winged cobra was made from a mold taken directly from the original winged cobra found among the treasures of Tutankhamun. This Egyptian revivalist piece measure 5 1/4" across the wing span and is 3 1/2" tall. There are two loops on the back which may have been for waxed linen strands to pass through. The Pendant is marked MMA on the reverse. This piece has been well cared for and is in excellent vintage condition. The beads shown are for display only and do not convey.
