Witch Riding Broom Necklace

The witch's broom was used in rituals to ensure good crops. Although broomsticks served various magical purposes, their main use was for clearing away negative energy ahead of a ritual. A witch would walk in a clockwise circle around his or her designated area, swinging the broom back and forth as he or she goes. Due to their symbolic significance, broomsticks would make appearance during weddings or handfastings, in which couples would "jump the broom" at the end of their ceremony: The broomstick represents the balance between masculine energies represented by the handle and feminine energies represented by the bristles.
