They have a foot-shaped toe box, which allows the toes to naturally wiggle or splay, but they aren't a "wide shoe"...they're normal throughout the rest of the shoe. The heel cups your foot nicely, and is really soft and comfortable. I got these as I was transitioning to zero-drop shoes for running and everyday kind of use. They are one of the most comfortable shoes I have owned and run in...and even for every day wear!!! I love Topo shoes, I have transitioned to the Magnifly which is a 0 drop.
