In excellent condition, with tags, one Y2K Nils Olsson (G. Olsson 1997) Red Hand Painted & Carved Dala Rooster 7x5.5". This wooden figurine is part of the Swedish Culture and Folk Art Symbolism and used to decorate the house during Christmass. This item is unique because it is signed and dated by the artist, Garrett Olsson 1997. The Swedish Dalecarlian rooster or Dala rooster, as they are more commonly known, are named for the central region of Sweden where they come from. The Dala rooster & horse originated in the late 1500s as a children's toy and have gained popularity through the years and the Dala horse has now become a national symbol of Sweden.
