The brand was founded in 1963 by Yves Saint Laurent and his partner, Dierre Berge. YSL popularized the beatnik look, safari jackets, tight pants and the thigh-high boots during the 1960's and 1970's. It is for these reasons and many more that YSL has been, and will remain to be, one of my favorite (and underrated) designers.
