Yellow Gold Tiger Black Enamel Brooch 18K Electroplate Vintage New Old Stock

This gorgeous brooch is a vintage piece, but it’s never been worn; it’s new old stock. It was tucked into storage at a local jeweler’s and never sold until now. The brooch features a gold crouching tiger with black enamel stripes. He’s made out of 18K yellow gold electroplate. The tiger was made by Dolphin Ore, an Israeli-based jeweler that was well known for its high-quality, nickel-free, gold-plated creations in the 80s and 90s. This particular design was inspired by the panther/jaguar brooches Cartier released. The brooch is 1.8” by 1.75”, and it will come in a gift box. Through the 60s to 90s, there were several major jewelry designers creating jewel-and-enamel animal brooches, including Cartier, David Webb, and Hattie Carnegie.
