Hi! I'm Margeaux. I'm a freelance model and actress from New Orleans (currently living in Alabama, though). I'm primarily a pin-up/lingerie/boudoir model, but I also do editorial and art modeling. thepinupqueen @mmazarie It really depends on the type of modeling you're wanting to go into, but the two most important things to remember are that networking is your best friend and that it's not enough just to be pretty. There are lots of pretty girls that want to be models, and you'll be competing with all of them for jobs. You have to have something that makes you unforgettable, so that you're not just a pretty face in an ocean of pretty faces. (: I hope this helps and good luck!

thepinupqueen @mmazarie None that I would recommend for beginners. One you've got some experience, I'd check out modelmayhem, but I wod really advise against it until you've had a few jobs first.

thepinupqueen @mmazarie A lot of photographers on that site are just out to take advantage of inexperienced models. They'll ask you to do nude shoots, there's nothing wrong with nudity, I do nude shoots all the time, so I have no issue with it, but they'll prey upon inexperienced models who don't know what to expect and use that as an opportunity to try and do things that the model will most likely be uncomfortable with (like asking for sexual favors in exchange for photos, which has happened to me before when I was younger. I said NO, obviously, but it happens a lot to new models). By and large, modelmayhem is a great site with a lot of talented people on it, but I would really advise you not to join until you have enough experience to tell creeps apart from professionals. It can be really difficult sometimes. And if you don't take any other piece of advice I give you, take this one: never, EVER go to a shoot alone, especially if you've never worked with the photographer before. If they tell you they don't allow escorts, that is a HUGE red flag and you should tell them no and never speak to them again. Safety can be a huge issue with modeling, so be really careful!!!
