Zabkowice Glass was started in 1884, but took a brief pause during the Great Depression. By 1945, operations resumed, and they quickly produced beautiful pressed glass. Zabkowice is known for the intricate patterns with clean stylized lines as seen in this candle holder with a smooth curved finger loop. There is a small fracture in the bottom of glass, but this does not weaken the integrity of the piece. Pressed glass is known for its durability. Pressed glass is designed by putting molten glass into a mold using a plunger.
Zabkowice is no longer in existence and closed its doors in 2004.
