antique Louis Sametz celluloid head doll

Louis Sametz (USA) made celluloid child’s shoulderder head dolls, Kewpies and Bye-Lo dolls from 1918 until 1924. Celluloid is a fragile material so the doll bodies were often made of cloth so they couldd be more eas played with. This small 8.5” doll has a terry cloth type fabric body. Stitching loose on one arm and age related yellowing of the fabric. The celluloid head appears to be in great is in condition and is marked with the American Indian logo.
