DESCRIPTION/CONDITION * For sale is what would have been a call bell at a hotel or restaurant made by BOJ of Eibar, Spain. * This metal turtle which appears to be brass plated as a magnetic does stick to it. Has a beautifully designed carapace of many color glass beads and enamel that are very unusual and one of a kind and has a modern art glass look to it. * At the bottom, it is marked BOJ Eibar Espana and has the following Patent numbers: 19536 & 30366 * Overall the piece measures approximately 6" L x 4" W and weighs in impressively at 1.1 pounds. It is a true gem for any collector of mid century modern art, hotel pieces or if you are looking for that right piece to complete a shelf. * BOJ is a family owned Spanish company that has been in operation since 1901 that specializes in the manufacturing of can openers, corkscrews, and other related kitchenware. * Overall the piece is in Good Pre-Owned Working Condition: Bell winds a little stiffly but does wind without issue and functions as it should, brass plate has some light surface scratches and residue of dust from age but could be restored nicely.
