sarajm @sarah_rn oh yeah? I love my baby. Unfortunately I'm on the way home right now from my cruise and the dog sitter said she ate a hole in the white leather couch:/ she's never been away from me for more than a few hours and we went on a 5 day cruise. I'm about to see the damage:( best dogs in the world but soooooo high maintenance. And jealous and severe separation anxiety. Lol

sarah_rn Oh my gosh, you poor thing!!! I hope it's not that bad, or at least patchable!! My friend's Weim ate the entirety if the leather off their brown leather couch when they left for a few days, too! I'm actually bringing my puppy home this week - I picked the runt, who was by far the calmest in the litter exactly for that reason. I've actually only ever had high-strung dogs, but he is my first dobe. I'll use this as a warning and take your experience into account when I travel without him!! I must say, I think your girl is the most beautiful dobe I've ever seen - she's the PERFECT color! Have a wonderful day, and a safe trip back home!

sarajm @sarah_rn oh you're just bringing your puppy home?! Mine is almost a year now. The hole is unfortunately about 5 inches in diameter but we can have it replaced maybe. The cushion that is. Um about her coat. Yes. I ONLY use the yellow Johnson's baby or off brand Walmart Johnson's baby soap. Always have since she was 6 weeks. And will forever. She is also an inside dog only but plays and pottys outside. That soap is enough to get them cleaner than dog shampoo but it doesn't strip their skin of the natural oils that need to protect them. Once their coat oils get out of wack i imagine its probably downhill from there. If it gets fleas which has only happened to ours once use the original blue dawn dish soap one time. And for fleas and worms etc there's a single pill we give her once a month from the vet. It works super well. And we feed her only purina puppy chow. Sorry. Lol love my dog obviously. Let me know if u have any questions. Ill find out what the pill is called. I can't remember at the moment. 💜

sarajm @sweetheartmeli thank you!! Yes she's my baby:) she's called a fawn like the color of a dear. I had no idea when I got her that dobermans are such babies! Like literally. She never leaves my side. She cuddles better than my own children. Lol

sarajm @sweetheartmeli yeah I had always wanted one too but I just got married last year and between me and my hubby we have 6 kids all under 8 yrs old! So I wasn't sure if they would be a good family dog. ...... I will never own anything but a doberman ever ever again! And they are soooooo clean! My last dog was lab chow and his hair was nightmare! But dobermans are the perfect dog. Aside from their panic attacks when their owners leave them alone. Yikes! And the bones have become another utility bill lol :) sorry, just live my dog. Thinking about getting another one.

sarajm @sweetheartmeli yeah we're thinking about. But it's a pretty big commitment. I want another one but I also don't BECAUSE she needs so much attention. But I wonder if she would want a companion. Idk. she likes the dog park. But she comes home to being princess again.

sweetheartmeli @sarajm most dogs need companions. i think it would help when your away. she has somebody to play with and interact. and would prevent her from getting anxiety and destroying stuff at home. she wouldn't feel lonely anymore, depressed, or sad. i live with my parents still and started with one chihuahua but he would get depressed and feel lonely when left alone and got him a companion and they can stay alone now :) i have had labs too and they love companionship!!

sweetpeaphilips @sarajm Beautiful! It's silly to c a big Doberman when I'm used to min pins. Lol. My mom has has 2 now. Those silly dogs think they r really big? No joke. But as said in other posts, ur fawn baby is the first ever I have seen or heard of. So amazing! Happy to hear a well informed dog owner as well! Also others who r interested in improving! So many people just buy 'me and put them in the yard. So sad. I love to read doggy posts on posh!! I'm a German shepherd lover myself! Have a lab too! Between the breeds I prefer a GSD. U said ur baby chewed up the couch, my lab needs me anytime she sees me. The look in her eyes says "mom why am I out here with these stinky dogs? Let me inside with the ac!" Lol. I agree with one owner that said to get her a doggy friend. I believe all dogs should come in pairs. We forget how much dogs enjoy being dog to cus we love being with them so much. But if u do it do it soon. She needs to socialize with other dogs to learn. Her with u and without u. My 2 shepherds went to a doggy kennel for about 10 days together. They were a great kennel, but it's a thought for future trips. U have to save for that like u do the trip, but well worth it. My kennel had daily doggy reports on everything. We could call day or night. My fam could visit them. But it helped all the way around. U should post more pix I want to share with the hubby. He has the male shepherd and I have the female (photo). But his is a service dog. I believe they may have had a Doberman in the unit years back, what does the military use? Do u kno ? I think the same as pd I'm not certain! Anyhow I'm so jazzed I found u...seriously ur dog is so beautiful!!
