In the 1980s, New Jersey's only contract brewery, Eastern Brewing Corporation in Hammonton, brewed naked beer (355 ml, 12 fl oz) for Golden Beverage Co. of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. A lottery-type scratch-off liner was used as a bikini top or bra on the female models. The Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control stopped sales in New Jersey because it was deemed inappropriate to have a label that could be removed to reveal a naked woman. Naked beer, with its controversial label, was distributed only in 14 states that had no such restrictions. New York, being the state I resided in at the time, was one of those states that allowed the sale of this beer. There were a total of 59 different models included in this Naked Beer Series, a label that has been battered by the passage of time.
