My 8” square handmade quilted potholders are a colorful stylish retro addition to dress up your kitchen and dinner table. You will receive the exact potholder shown in these pictures. Quilting is the process of sewing two or more layers of fabric together to make a thicker padded material. The needle and thread go through all layers to bind the material together. A potholder is to protect your table and counter surfaces from intense heat from pots, pans, and oven dishes. I create mine with four layers—top layer is a beautiful 100% cotton graphic fabric, next is 100% cotton batting, third and fourth layers are made from a multilayer silver metallic heat-resistant fabric the bottom layer in a quilted diamond pattern. This heat-resistant fabric is made up of -Face: 100% Cotton; Filling: 87.7% Cotton, 7.5% Rayon, 4.8% Polyester; Back/bottom: 100% Olefin. Machine Wash Cold, Delicate Cycle, No Chlorine Bleach, Tumble Dry Low, Remove Promptly. Press with a low heat iron setting to flatten for easier storage. Warning: DO NOT USE THESE IN THE MICROWAVE.
