A wonderful cuff bracelet with a Moroccan feel, late 1950s, early 1960s--an unusual piece from silver company Whiting & Davis. The filigree shapes have a carved texture that adds to the Old World feel. It is in excellent vintage condition, with very little wear--but please examine the photos to be sure this is the right piece for you. The push-button closure is nice and crisp and secure. Take home a rarity! From a nonsmoking, pet-loving home, where the wares live in bins but a cat might help me tape up a box. Thank you for looking!

niddiebone @sayderangel Sure, I can add one tomorrow ... I used a mannequin hand in these pictures because I thought nobody would want to see my freckly arm, haha.

niddiebone @sayderangel I just added a couple in which you can see the mannequin's hand ... Mannequin hands are smaller than human ones ... I can still take pictures when these comes up tomorrow if you like.

sayderangel @niddiebone yes. Please take some with your own hands. Is this silver or other metal?

niddiebone @sayderangel Thanks to your question, I went and tested it to be doubly sure. It is silver-tone and perhaps rhodium plated for brightness. Whiting & Davis started out as fine jewelers in the 1870s, using gold and silver; some of their early chain bags were real silver. By the 1960s, when this piece was made, they mostly did silver- and gold-TONE, not the actual precious metals. Sometimes they plated with silver and gold, but not this time.

sayderangel @niddiebone I just needed to see if it is silver, as I am allergic to some metals and creates bumps on my skin.

sayderangel @niddiebone not sure if you are confirming silver or not.

niddiebone @sayderangel It is not the precious metal silver, no. It is silver-tone, which means it could be a variety of metals and may well irritate your skin--unless it is plated in rhodium, which I cannot confirm. Even sterling silver is sometimes alloyed with nickel, which is the metal that irritates most people. It's in white gold too, which is why most white gold is plated with rhodium or platinum, which are good buffers.

niddiebone Basically anything described as "silver tone" will have the look of silver but no actual silver in it. Same with "gold tone."
