These pieces are hand painted in beautiful subtle soft colors. A pale blue, pale pink band with small flowers and gold trim and handles. These pieces were made in the early 1900’s by Meito and have a mix of art deco and art nouveau styling. One Meito cup and saucer is from the 1930’s and has a slightly different mark on bottom.
You can mix and match them with other similar colored dishes and create a gorgeous table setting.
There’s a matching sugar bowl with top, creamer and gravy boat and 3 tea cups with their respective matching saucers.
These types of items are getting harder and harder to find and Meito was a premier maker of fine porcelain in Japan in the early 1900’s. The 4 plates measure about 8.5 in diameter and have had hardly any use. This set despite not being a matching set works very well together because the colors are all very similar.
