vintage 50s handmade velvet-accent day dress

unaltered early-50s synthetic faille day dress. black with velveteen trim on collar. condition is vintage very good. hem has been retacked several times as the original cotton thread used to hem has broken down with age. this thread is still visible on sleeves - it has lightened with age, can be replaced with modern colorfast thread. original metal side zipper still in place and working fine. there is one thread-constructed belt- or accent-trim loop just by the zipper. dress came to me with only one loop. another can be placed on the other side of the waist if a waist accent ribbon or belt is desired. i have no idea if it was originally designed to have one, but a nice velveteen ribbon would certainly look well. flaws: one small fray on right shoulder, see pic. waistline could probably use a bit of retacking, but it's perfectly wearable as it stands. no weird smells or tears. dress is unlined. fabric is opaque but light. dress is 70 years old and sold as-is. shown with my hat, this sale is for dress only. crosslisted, so get it while it's here. *measurements laid flat* pit to pit: 17.5" waist: 13.5" sleeve: 6.25"
