Purchased in the 80's this unusually constructed dress is reminiscent of designs of the 1920's. The sleeves are difficult to describe because they are part of the dress. There are no seams at the shoulder that normally would separate the front from the back of the dress and no seams for sleeves. The dress top appears to have been created out of one piece of fabric folded over and sewn together on the sides. The dress has two hidden pockets. The bottom of this design, the skirt section is tubular and constructed out of 2 pieces.
The overall dress measures 42 " in length from nape of neck to hem (11" of which are skirt).
The front of the dress hangs straight giving it a sleek look contrasting with the slight ballooning in back.
The collar can be worn 2 ways, opened or buttoned (see photo). The dress doesn't have a content label, but I am pretty sure that it is wool or wool blend. However, there is a label indicating that the garment should be dry cleaned only.
I couldn't find out if "FREELANDER" is the name of the designer or the company.
The colors are a medium bluish grey and navy stripe.
The size is labeled "small" but is quite roomy.
The dress has been previously worn but is in good condition. If you look under the bottom button you will notice some stitching where a small tear was repaired. It is not visible on the inside or the outside.
