vintage christmas cards unused parchment paper.
This beautiful unused Christmas card is likely from the 1960s (possibly the late 1950s) but there is no date on it anywhere. It is from a collection called Songs of Christmas. The
cover of the box reads "The nicest way to send a thought. Songs of Christmas/ 21 Luxurious Parchment Folder Assortment/With words and music of the world's most beautiful Christmas carols and descriptions
of their origin."
This card features the Christmas carol "It Came Upon A Midnight Clear". The front of the card features the words and music of the first verse of this
carol. The "sheet music" is surrounded by lit candles glowing brightly among swirly tendrils of vines, flowers and poinsettias. Vibrant colors of purple, yellow, teal, green, red and blue explode off the page. The design is rich with touches of metallic gold. A red border surrounds it all.
Inside the card, the right side displays almost an exact duplicate of the card front --except, instead of sheet music, there is a greeting in metallic gold: "Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year." There is room for a signature beneath it. The left inside of the card features the story of the the
Christmas carol's origin.
This card, as mentioned, is made of a crisp parchment paper. It measures just about 5x7 inches. It is in beautiful shape and has its own envelope.
The price is per card. Original box is not included
