I unfortunately haven't been able to wear these except for a quick try on because of the smell. I washed them twice, and have had them out on my balcony in the sun since I got them because of it. I don't know what the smell is, like a mixture of something scented and a really strong acidic odor. I'm not sure if it was something present on the clothes when you got them, or something you treated them with. If the latter, I might suggest a change. Five stars because I don't want to affect your ratings but wanted to let you know : (
