The pieces look like they're pretty sturdy and hopefully we'll fit together well. I knew for the money there was no way I was going to be cherry. It appears to be masonite with contact paper on top...but it should be pretty sturdy. One thing though, could you please find some directions and send them to us? This really is 1 big 18 piece puzzle!
