This comment is lengthy but includes important information for the Seller & potential Buyers relating to what my truthful experience was with my purchase & the reasons why I have issued a 5-Star rating as opposed to a 1-Star rating. Of note I would like to acknowledge that the transaction was flawless, the shipping was fast, the necklace chain was signed Brighton, as described and more importantly, the pendant ended up being Brighton & the pendant was in pristine condition & beautiful (unlike the necklace chain)! When I initially opened the item up, I was initially horrified by the necklace chain’s condition. If the Seller had indicated that the necklace chain was very dark and dirty & required cleaning AND if the Seller had brighter lighting in the photos where the silver Brighton chain’s true condition could be properly assessed, it would have been less of a shock when I opened my purchase. With that said, the Seller was honest in all other ares of the item description AND I consider that fact that the Seller DID HONESTLY POINT OUT ALL OTHER ASPECTS OF THE ITEM’S CONDITION WITH HONEST INTEGRITY, with the exception of the necklace chain, TO BE OF PARAMOUNT IMPORTANCE & WORTH NOTING TO ALL THOSE READING THIS FEEDBACK. To clarify my extreme disgust with the necklace chain condition & why it matters to item listing description, all Brighton jewelry, with exception of truly VINTAGE & signed .925 Sterling Silver, is Stainless Steel base, layered with a heavy layer of Sterling Silver PLATING, then 2 layers of Brighton’s proprietary lacquered finish is layered on top of the Silver plating to prevent oxidation & to prevent the need for constant cleaning that expensive Sterling Silver jewelry products require. The lacquer finish on Brighton jewelry & the fact that Brighton, up until this current time, exclusively uses Swarovski Crystal Jewelry Lines, is key to its long term exceptional quality & truly what makes their jewelry better quality, better value & different than jewelry makers if a similar quality & name branding. I mention all this because if Brighton jewelry is exposed to heavy long-term smoke, perfume, body lotions, cleaning chemicals or sometimes an individual’s off pH skin, the lacquer coatings become damaged or absorb the smoke & dirt & essentially degrade the jewelry’s brilliant luster to an awful dark condition that is NEARLY impossible to restore. I am an expert at Brighton jewelry restoration & Brighton restoration is extremely complicated & one must possess a complicated knowledge of chemistry, an understanding of how Brighton is created & crafted, & possess an understanding of other chemical interactions, along with a proven history of successful Brighton Jewelry Restoration and even then, once restored, the jewelry item’s lacquer finish is often removed, out of necessity, to expose the silver plating, which means the brilliant glossy shine will never be present & when selling such or re-selling such restored items, the Seller must be sure to relay such to potential Buyers & include high lighting, high resolution photos so potential Buyers can make an educated purchase decision. With that said, the item as a whole was a good value. My only regret is that I did not receive discounted shipping, as that would have compensated for the awful physical condition of the necklace chain, which as previously mentioned was so extremely dark & dirty that I was hesitant to handle it with my hands. I will note that I spent a great deal of time & effort attempting to restore the necklace chain’s dark appearance by a great deal of time & careful, experienced cleaning, thereby improving the chain’s appearance to an acceptable condition. Overall, I’ve issued a 5-Star rating on this Seller because I believe the Seller was doing their best to be honest & with integrity describe the item’s true condition & that, in itself is a point of the highest merit. If I did not believe such, I would have requested a return & refund request because the pendant cannot be removed from the necklace without breaking the necklace & which would have resulted in the need to purchase an actual Brighton Charm necklace, which is costly & which would have made the cost of the piece well in excess of it’s original NEW purchase price (this pendant/necklace is RETIRED by Brighton for quite a few years. I apologize for this EXTREMELY LENGTHY rating comment but it is my hope that the Buyer will appreciate the lengthy explanation & be able to utilize it’s content to continue to be an exceptional POSHMARK Seller!
