A gorgeous antique ironstone server, which has just the right amount of frill to it- not too much, not too little! Perfect for any country table, will work with many looks, from rustic to cottagecore. A personal favorite, this piece has an almost oceanic feel to it, with its scalloped shape & fluid art nouveau handles. Waterloo Potteries, strong backstamp. Very rare Shonbrun white pattern. Some even crazing, iron-age spots & one small chip, pictured. Overall in lovely vintage condition.

luvnoostuf @whimsicalbeast Hey friend, Have you ever used it for serving, or is it a beloved display piece?

whimsicalbeast @luvnoostuf This one was picked up way north in Maine, at an old farmhouse. I got it for myself and adore it, but I can’t think of when I’ve ever actually used it. I’m an old Chef, so I tend to just plate everything and make it pretty lol this baby needs a better home!

luvnoostuf @whimsicalbeast I see it in a farm house beach kitchen. The question is, do i need it? Will i give it a home where it’s used? My styles are in transition- we are about to embark on a kitchen renovation ( hopefully).

whimsicalbeast @luvnoostuf Oh how fun! I understand the questions very well. After I started collecting white ironstone I began to understand Martha Stewarts obsession with it- marvelous stuff. I still have quite a lot around the house- I use pieces like this in my craft studio, to hold supplies. (Great now I dont want to sell it lol lol)

whimsicalbeast @luvnoostuf I have a friend with an air B&B and she uses little vessels in her loo (I do, too, in the guest bath, antique hand painted sugar bowls with lids) to hold feminine items, first aid, etc. I’m rambling now. Not trying to talk you into anything- its just cool to see what people come up with for these old works of art!

whimsicalbeast @luvnoostuf You do your thing-! Renovations are … a lot to deal with. We are working on one room of the house, and its not much, but its already so many more decisions than I ever thought it would be. I thought it would be simple. Man oh man was I deluded hahahaha
