Hello! I am a NY native who moved back to NYC after living in Los Angeles for almost 9 years. My style reflects my love for both coasts! frownyface @shoppatterns lol yes I am obsessed with Over!! It's the best text-over-photo app out there in my opinion. I don't mind sharing!! I don't get why some people feel they need to hide their "trade secrets". The second photo in particular I used Grid Lens (for the two panels) and Lumie (for the sparkly effect). I sometimes use Beautiful Mess but I don't like how you can't go back and undo or edit things.

I quit my job recently bc I'm trying to move to New York! I actually started poshing to help pay for that but at this point I'm just trying to keep my shopping restricted to posh credits hahaha. It's tooo addicting! 😆😆😆

I was up in Portland last weekend and felt woefully unprepared - forgot scarf, boots etc Then it got me thinking I need to go buy boots on Posh - which I did yesterday hahaa Wouldn't be surprised if snow starts happening in places like CO soon. I added a few items yesterday, will be adding more as I finish unpacking all my clothes! I have to solve the closet situation in this apt. My poor husband has been relegated to a small dresser since I took over the ONE closet we have hahahah. 😅😭

moonbunnytoo I made the mistake of telling hubby I got the $80 refund - he was like, wait a minute ... that means you spent over $800 on Posh not including shipping?? oh boy ... at least half that amount came from sales!! I better go intercept the Prada boots coming in the mail today. never too late for adventure! just the adventure moves to a completely different beat. Our little one is about 15 months and we still travel, maybe not to places like India, but we went to Hawaii and NY a couple times. My husband moved with his family to the US from Europe when he was 12 (it was supposed to be a 1 year sabbatical but a couple decades later, they are still here!) at least from NY you are much closer to travel to places like Europe and the Caribbean - which I'm sure you will think about those exotic islands when it's dumping snow on you in January :)

frownyface Hi @prettyinpinkms3 you don't high end items but cover shots are key. Definitely take good clear photos in bright daylight. A little styling doesn't hurt. Include photos of you (or someone) wearing the item bc people always ask. I like writing long descriptions including details I myself would want to see on something I'm buying. Sign up to cohost a party - might take a while but it's the best way to expand your following. Good luck!

I don't consider myself an expert by any means but as someone who changed careers from medical to creative at the age of 25 (I'm 32 now) I can at least say it's never too late to find what you love! If you haven't already gone to school for some kind of design, even if it's not branding specifically, you should do so - even in the form of night or online classes.

frownyface @ruthyc (continued) If you already have some form of educational background in design, then build a compelling portfolio that showcases the kind of work you WANT to be doing. Make up project ideas if you have to, a fake product you branded, or a before and after of a company's branding you'd like to see, etc. The portfolio is the most important thing you'll need to land a job you want, so definitely invest the time to create a great one. I used an app called Over to make the category listings, and since whichever listing you share or update goes to the top of your closet, I just make sure to share/update the listings in the correct order so they stay in their categories. It's a little more work, but great for ocd types like me lol 😅

frownyface @stefshoultz hi there. I just share/edit the listings in the reverse order of how I want them to appear. So, starting with the "sold" listing and then ending with the "welcome" listing. No other way to do it unfortunately! Hope that helps :)

frownyface @jessicagstone hi there I got pretty lucky since I joined posh while it was still relatively new and had the privilege of becoming a suggested user fairly early on, which helps a lot with gaining visibility. If you haven't already, I would reach out to posh to host a party and become a suggested user. I understand the "wait list" for that is much longer these days, but that is what really helped me get my listings in front of more people. Hope that helps :)
