corilee21 Hey just came across this , you sound like me . I too have a million chronic illness and too have given up on doctors . May I ask what you have and if it's to personal I'm sorry . Good luck on here! :)

shoret411
shoret411 @corilee21 I've had 2 surgeries on my pancreas for pancreatitis and for stenosis (narrow opening to pancreas and bile ducts), gall baller removed, Interstitial Cystitis, Gastroparesis (paralysis of the stomach). my colon is super slow & hardly functions.. i've been in chronic pain since 2006, worse w /eating and now i'm on morphine 24/7 and hyrdrocodone mid day to mask the pain since nobody can FIX the problems, it just an awful way to live, esp at 30 yrs old!
May 25Reply
corilee21
corilee21 Wow I'm sorry , I hear ya I'm only 33 and have some of the same problems as you , ulcerative colitis , non functioning colon ( I'm debating a removal but scared) I have chronic cystitis too , liver problems , arthritis , lots of chronic pain etc etc . U get the point . I am just got off of my pain meds which was very hard after being on them for do many years and am trying a bunch of natural stuff because my liver is really shot . Glad to know I'm not alone , it's hard being young and constantly sick . Thanks for sharing Hun :)
May 25Reply
corilee21
corilee21 Oh I have the same problem with eating , I hardly eat at all because it hurts to much . Just curious how u get your calories in? I have tried everything from boost to protein powders etc.
May 25Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @corilee21 I just got back on opiates after 2 yrs, and will be on the rest of my life now. After being dx w/gastroparesis Dr made me get off percocet b/c they slow down digestive system (i'm sure ur aware) & I went through withdrawals and it was the hardest thing i've ever done! I hope ur getting help doing it! I'm on an amazing support group on facebook where i've met other young women that have become some of my support. Make sure u get multiple opinions before getting colon removed! I talk to people who got it done and wish they hadnt and it's something that can't be undone! Keep in touch!

shoret411 @corilee21 Somehow i'm gaining weight from not eating?? When everything started w/my pancreas i was tiny.. from the clothes i'm selling u can see i was size 0/xs and now i'm 4'11 and 127 lbs which is my biggest and makes no sense! I get full after a few bites so i'm prob in starvation mode.. nothing leaves my body either direction and i bloat really bad. GI is starting to consider a feeding tube :( It actually hurts me that i "look healthy" with Dr's.. but ur doing the right things...i used to drink slim fast shakes a lot, sounds funny, but they have about the same nutrution as Boost but taste WAY better! And i have to watch FAT b/c of my pancreas!
May 25Reply
shoret411
shoret411 i have a lot of lupis symptoms also but last test came out normal so i'm being tested again in a year.. i get low grade fevers all the time, esp after being out! Do u have any auto-immune issues with everything else? I can see from ur pics how tiny u are :(
May 25Reply
corilee21
corilee21 Oh yes I was tested for lupus as we'll but it was negative , oh ya I have chronic rashes, allergies, migraines, low grade fevers , Chronic fatigue, I could go on lol. Autoimmune diseases run in my family so im sure I have something they haven't found yet, there are more tests I have yet to h have done I just get tired of always going to the doctor , hospital etc. And the bills!! I am just fed up ya know ( I'm sure ya do ) ya I have heard horrible things about the surgery ass well but it's got to a point where I'm tired off all the pain that comes with not having any motility in my colon , most people with uc have chronic diahreah but I'm just the opposite go figure . So if you got a feeding tube what would that help with ? Yes I'm a 0 , it's do frustrating to be so skinny and to have people look at me like I'm anorexic , i actually used to work out it was sorta like my stress relief from all my health issues but had to stop a few years ago when my pain and everything got a lot worse. Having all these illnesses that are unseen to the naked eye is hard because others just don't get it . Ok sorry for whining lol it's just good to talk to someone who gets it . May I ask the support group you are in on FB? I need something like that! Thanks for sharing with me, it's greatly appreciated :) love to keep in touch thru the group on FB so we don't clog up your posh page with our medical history haha:) oh and thanks do much for all the shares. , that was so sweet :) I will do the same
May 25Reply

abstractdreams
abstractdreams I'm a shorty too (due to 6 compression fractures when I was 28). I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis at 15, that was wrong. M.S. at 22, that was wrong too! I was finally diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia at 24. If a doc has "given up" that's about them and it's time to find a new doctor!! Just because they can't figure it out, doesn't mean you're not ill!! Good Luck hon.🌺
May 29Reply
abstractdreams
abstractdreams Oh...and a "normal" time frame for a Lupus diagnosis is 3-7 years. Yep...YEARS!
May 29Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @linmp1031 My mom has lupus and RA and they commonly go together, although she mostly just has RA symptoms. Hers was caught immediatly. I have tons of lupus symptoms but my blood work came out negative, i'm getting tested again a year from that date. I hope you are getting the right treatement now and getting some relief for your symptoms!! I've been sick since 2006 and it's completely ruined my life- i'm only 30 yrs old.
May 29Reply
abstractdreams
abstractdreams That's the reason it can take so long. When your symptoms & labs finally come together...Bingo! The fact is most of the Auto-Immune illnesses symptoms/lab results look similar, so it's not cut and dry for the docs. You have Rhuematologic disease in your immed family, so it's likely the problem for you. Funny thing for me is...since my divorce from the Lord of Darkness in 2005, it's like I'm cured! I'm on maintenance meds for the arthritis & NO narcotics!!

alikaiser
alikaiser Hi! I feel your pain! I hope you find a good provider soon to manage your care and get you to the right people. Just because there isn't a name for what you are experiencing doesn't mean you aren't having problems. I have fibro, chronic fatigue, Interatitial cystitis (hurts like a mutha!), trigeminal neuralgia known as the ""suicide disease", myoclonus, sciatica, arthritis, unexplained bilateral hand tremors which just appeared one day, migraines, ...... List goes on. But nobody can find one thing that can be proven with a test. It sucks doesn't it?! I am a nurse too and I've stood next to various doctors and heard them talk smack about their pain patients, not realizing I am one too, kind of breeds anxiety in ya. I had to quit work because I couldn't be an active member of my family anymore. Hang in there, bless the good days and try and sleep through the bad ones. I'll be happy to share your closet. Good luck !

ringleader So pretty, you are. Have they tested you for Lyme?
Jun 07Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @ringleader thank you! Is Lyme an auto-immune disease? I think i was tested for all when i was checked for Lupus but not sure? I'll have to look that one up, i honestly don't know anything about it?
Jun 07Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @alikaiser I have IC also and since i'm on so much morphine I have to get my bladder checked every 6 months now. I have Gastroparesis and i think it's another suicide disease. I have tons of issues also, so i understand. I'm only 30 and haven't worked in years... i got sick right after i graduated college in 2006 so i n ever even began a career! I'm meeting with a concierge Dr on Monday, so basically i would pay her a fee, instead of using insurance, and i have access to her 24/7.. cell phone, email, whatever, any time of day and she can case manage my care. I've already been to Mayo Clinic and i'm looking into Cleveland Clinic now b/c they deal more w/longterm health issues and GI Dr is wanting me to get a feeding tube.
Jun 07Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @alikaiser oh btw, i have migraines too and did u know there's a link btw migraines and IC? There are lots of studies being done about it! Kinda strange!

ringleader
ringleader I have a friend who had Lyme as a child twice, and now has RA and Lupus; however, I was diagnosed with Lyme recently and can identify with your symptoms- especially digestive. If you do get tested for Lyme, it's really important that you see what we call a Lyme literate md. This is because diagnosis is so tricky, and the dr needs to be aware of the alternative testing available. My first blood tests came back negative, so my Lyme specialist tried again since he highly suspected I had it from my symptoms. So often it is thought to be ra, ms, lupus, and beyond... Mis treated, and it sets very young folk like yourself in a way... Well... You know. Another friend was being treated for ms and ended up in a wheelchair before she saw a Lyme specialist and was correctly diagnosed, treated and recovered well... Out of the wheelchair and living happy again. Another misdiagnosed by the best doctors in a fantastic hospital with rheumatoid arthritis... Again, the med injections they gave her to suppress her immunity landed her flat on her back with a constant fever, in a wheelchair... Until she saw a Lyme specialist, was properly diagnosed, and is on the pathway to recovery. It's a terrible thing to go through, but it's treatable, and one can recover. I hope you'll look into it. I've suffered, and it gives me such a heart for others suffering chronic illness and constant pain. I'll pray for you! You're such a young, lovely girl. I hope for an accurate diagnosis and effective treatment to restore your well being! 😊💛🌸🙏

ringleader Migraines are a huge Lyme symptom. It affects cognitive and memory, causes muscle aches, swollen joints, knees (omw the knees.,), digestive, stiffness in fingers and toes. Did you travel or spend time in woods, high grasses, hikes? Mission trip overseas or in third world countries?
Jun 07Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @ringleader I think i have multiple issues.. i have the gastroparesis/colon not functioning/pancreas.. all that... then i think there is some sort of auto-immune issue that is a new development (b/c i started w/pancreatitis in 2006 and kept going from there) The Lyme Disease symptoms don't shout out at me like Lupus does, but i will def keep it in mind! Thank you so much for writing, and my mom does have RA and Lupus and i know it's genetic also.. I hope you are doing better now! It's awful how we put so much trust into Dr's and they mis-diagnose all the time and put people on the wrong meds (or don't look at what meds your on!) I've learned how much you have to advocate for yourself!
Jun 07Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @ringleader I've had migraines since i was 14 and taken preventative meds every day since! That is the ONLY genetic thing i have!! Everything else nobody in my fam has! Even the lupus symptoms.. my mom just gets rashes and has more RA issues (but not even severe) At this point, i hardly even leave my apartment!! But no, i've never been an outdoor/woods type person! The only outside i do is at the pool lol. Last summer i did start having trouble w/my knee getting inflammed tho..the chiropractor has some reasoning w/my hips being off centered or something.. and it really only happens w/walking, it started when i was in Boston and was walking a lot and hasn't happened lately since i've been in bed for weeks... my whole body aches and hurts like i'm 90 yrs old. I'm on morphine 24/7 and hydrocodone usually once a day, but my main issue is pain associated w/food and digestion
Jun 07Reply
ringleader
ringleader Lyme can be passed from mother to baby, too. I will pray you find the correct diagnosis. If your dr is a Lyme literate one, being tested for it isn't much more. Knowing exactly what one has is half the battle!

ringleader
ringleader Well, hopefully answers are coming soon for you!!
Jun 07Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @ringleader oh i don't get rashes, was saying my mom gets them w/her lupus.. i get a red butterfly type rash on my face, looks and feels like a sunburn, sometimes after eating.. i think my body is working too hard to digest. and i get low grade fevers in the evenings. I'm just worn out and tired really easily and in so much pain, esp if i eat. it's just been awful the past few weeks. I'm going to Boston in 2 weeks for the niece's 1st birthday and really hope i can do it! I'm going w/my mom and we'll mostly just be w/my niece at their house during the day, but it's good motivation for me!

alikaiser
alikaiser Do you use atarax for IC? It is helpful but very sedating. Stronger than Benadryl. I am use to it now. I use norco 3x/day and neurontin. Because I am a nurse my provider has given me the ability to adjust the neurontin myself depending on whether I am having trigeminal neuralgia, sciatica or a fibro flare. Of course if one condition flares then they all seem to follow suit. That is interesting about the concierge doc. I hope that works out for you. I have a lot of MS symptoms but a clear MRI. It is demoralizing to not have a clear cut answer for some of this stuff. Keep my updated about your concierge doc. Let me know what you think. And I hope you have some good days ahead for you.
Jun 08Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @alikaiser I was only aware of Elmiron being used for IC. I'm actually not having many IC issues these days, i guess in "remission". It just started one day around 2006, i was peeing over 20x a day and having the pain, but lately the pain is just with time of month (i only do 4x a year) or very random and i ofund that Midol actually helps! I can't go off my B.C. pills b/c that does keep it under control.. i tried going off and was in sooo much bladder pain. At one point it aws so bad that i had to get some numbing installations, but i don't think i have it that bad. I had tried Neurontin for abdominal issues but it didn't help- i think that was the one that gave me leg tremors? I'm on morphine 24/7 and hydrocodone mid day as needed for my gastroparesis/abdominal pain issues. (along w/a zillion other meds and as needed meds for everything!!) Good luck to you and i''ll let u know how the dr goes.

amasood1
amasood1 Hope you get well. Will keep you in my prayers ❤️. By any chance have you tried eating food that contains ONLY medium fatty acid chains. Since it is the only type that can be broken down in the stomach and does not need the pancreas for the digestion.
Jun 08Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @amasood1 Thank you!! I used to be on a less than 30g fat a day diet for my pancreas and also tried taking Creon (enzymes to help digest). At first the low fat diet helped when i had pancreatitis and was only in bad pain if i ate really fatty food or too much at once, but now i'm at the point where i'm in pain with anything/everything!! GI Dr is pushing feeding tube :(
Jun 08Reply
amasood1
amasood1 I'm sorry they are inserting the feeding tube!! :[ :[ hum ... What caused your pancreatitis? Also, if you stay only on the low calorie diet consisting of ONLY the medium fatty acids and no cholesterol for a long period does the pain go away? Sorry just really interested I was just studying this
Jun 08Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @amasood1 No clue, my lipase levels just kept getting higher and higher.. they took my gall bladder out then i had ERCP to open entrance to pancreas and bile duct for papillary stenosis in 2006 and again in 2008. I have gastroparesis now so my stomach is semi paralyzed and when i have an endoscopy, food is just sitting there. The pancreas digests FAT.. so i was told to eat less than 30g of fat a day, spread out.. calories weren't an issue, just Fat, b/c trying to digest the fat makes pancreas work harder and causes more pain, etc. As of now, my lipase is always elevated but not to the extreme of pancreatitis. I've tried everything... the gluten free "fad" and GF, sugar free, dairy free.. i mean nothing helps/works at this point. I mostly just need to eat soft, low fiber, mostly liquids, as little at a time..

lifeinstiches
lifeinstiches I am so sorry you ate so young & going through so much. I too have many health issues but I don't post it in Posh only because that is what it has done turned me into a hermit. I do go out to Doctors or for first time in a long long time a camping trip this weekend even though I had fun I still slept a lot. I was a Nurse Aide, Medical Assistant & CNA so I don't trust doctors very much here where I live & most have been wrong I can go to 5 & get a different Dx each time it is aggravating only one thing I know they have right is my pituitary tumor but it is small other then menopause super early they just watch it every 6 months to make sure it hasn't grown. I know someone on here that might be able to help you. I will tag her later today on your wall. I have often thought about going to holistic Doctor that do the Macrobiotic diet it has saved cancer patients so why not buy none on my area of course. Here we have a TV show on it called The Incurables you can google it to get Doctors names one of them even saved a girl with days to live & yes he went to jail because he used natural food to cure them smh. I feel your pain & I am off to doc again in a little while as my pain meds have to be switched a lot because I am allergic to Morphine so it is hard for me to take many even synthetic I have been in one 3 months was ok but now getting rashes Etc. I am older than you but pain is pain & so is an illness. I learned from school Doctors ate not god but you do have to find one that will hunt until he had the right answer. I feel like I should glow on the dark from all the tests they do. I sleep a lot often to & if I do anything for more than 10 mins. I am in bed for 2 to make up for it. Went thru MS testing spinal the lovely docs messed that up & screwed up my back. And you ate worried about live & marriage Sweet girl I am 47 & I have learned looks, sex etc does not matter what matters is Love unconditional Love. Trust me there is one out there & when the time is right in the house or not you will find one. Please look up The Incurables on Veria Living you will be amazed, if they don't find answers soon I am gonna look like the poster kids that are starving soon. Mine started with a few surgeries for other issues than gallbladder & just kept going that is when weight just plummeted in a week lost 30 lbs😱 My family is not my support line they are the worst ones I found my BFF & 2 old friends to be a support line more. If you ever need to talk always tag me. I also find it odd so many people are getting sick I wonder if they (pharmacy co. & government) ate up to no good?) a good doc especially internal & infectious disease doctors are the best. Gentle hugs & much ❤️ Heidi Sorry if anything is spelled wrong not awake & you know the still meds = can't type

fab_fashionista I love this! You're so gorgeous and seem like an amazingly strong person! I'm studying now to become a nurse practitioner. I love medicine so reading this touched my heart. I hope you get well soon. I'll pray for you! 😘❤️ btw you look so much younger, I thought you were in your early twenties like me! 😊

shoret411 @fab_fashionista Thank you so much!! These pics are from last summer and spring, but everyone tells me I look young! Nobody believes that I"m 30! lol Just recently people started guessing young 20's.. a few years ago I was in the ER and they handed my mom the release forms thinking i wasn't even 18 haha. I have learned a LOT about medicine being sick for so long, and def appreciate good dr's and nurses!! Is there a certain specialty that interests you? (I have another post too about my illnesses) I tried going back to school for nursing at one point since i have become so empathetic.. my BS is in textile and apparel management, but there was no way i could've gotten through clinicals and had to quit. I just applied for Disability :( Thanks for the super sweet message!

fab_fashionista My top choice is in neonatal care! I love babies but I know that will take time and experience to reach that level. Only problem is I don't have a neonatal program on my state so I will probably either go for pediatrics and try to transition or just do family practice and gain experience before moving to the NICU 😊 I have a long way to go but I'm hopeful!

jenjen1973
jenjen1973 Oh my gosh I think we have the same life story! Our sizes are different, but I also cannot work due to having a chronic disease,(Ehlers Danlos Syndrome), & have a ton of medical bills. I do NOT receive any assistance due to the fact that I went to college, & didn't work enough hours to qualify. Your closet is gorgeous & congratulations on all you're doing! You should feel very proud💟

shoret411 @jenjen1973 There are a lot of people who have EDS & GP. I just recently met a girl a few years younger than me who has both, but her EDS is really really bad.. she can't get out of bed without aids and has been using a wheelchair since 16, but she has tons of probs b/c of her EDS and she's just starting to look into what to do when she turns 26 since she's never been able to work & can't have her parents insurance, they got a lawyer i think. I just got approved for Disability the other day on the first try, i was sooo excited b/c my lawyer even said i wouldn't get it that easy! I got on here for something to do while i'm in bed a lot and for any extra money, but i hadn't been on here for a few months until just like 2-3 weeks ago b/c i'd been sleeping soooo much. I just started with a new pain dr and a new treatment so i'm having lots of side effects and hard to see bright screen, but just made a sale, wahoo!

glimmergirl61
glimmergirl61 Dear Renee, I just read your terribly sad story. It made me want to cry, as I realized how ungrateful I’ve been. I’m also a disability recipient but I’m at least able to have a life. My mind is blown by all you’ve suffered. You can’t even eat! Surely praying for a healing MIRACLE for you, friend, God can do the impossible. Reach out to Dr. Richard & Cindy Becker of Bio Innovations. He’s a physician AND a nutritionist. They are on TV on WBPH Network every weekday too, at 11AM & 9 PM.

glimmergirl61
glimmergirl61 They even take call-ins on the program sometimes. Describe your situation to him & he will do all he can to help you nutritionally. He’d even send you a care package free of charge! They’re a wonderful Christian couple and I’ve never seen a program in my life like theirs! Mom & I watch them every night! The website: www.bioinnovations.net. Phone: (888) 442-1828. May God be with you. ♥️. Deb🌹

Aug 11Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @ocluxshop lol no. Neg thinking didn’t paralyze my stomach and colon and make my small intestine slow and give me pancreasatitis and everytime I stand up my blood pressure drops and heart rate increases, etc.
Aug 11Reply
shoret411
shoret411 @ocluxshop my Drs would laugh at you! When I have tons of medical proof of my illnesses, all of which have no cures! A port bc I can’t even absorb fluids, numerous surgeries, another coming up, on disability which is extremely hard to even get approved for! On home health, etc. you think it’s bc I think negatively?? Lmao one of the funniest things I’ve ever heard! Like I just chose to be sick and WANT this life! I’ll pray for you!
