RARE and unique piece from the Art Deco period circa 1920's. Wrap around snake measures a 2.25" and has some stretch due to the open wrap style and individual segments on an expandable wrap wire. Made with pot metal with each individual segment topped with a paste stone. The eyes are red cabochon stones (This semi precious gemstone cabochon material is Red Jasper and it is found near the tip of South Africa). Paste Stones are an imitation stone made from hand-faceted, hand-cut, metal-polished, high-lead content glass. This piece is marked PATENTED. It is missing 1 paste stone in the first segment of the head of the snake is not noticeable unless looking for it (see last photo 4th stone from head). Some of the paste stones have darkened with age. This was bought at a vintage auction. Please be aware I did not clean the item and leave that to the buyer.
