Authentic Very Rare Find Vintage Chanel Maison Gripoix Red Poured Glass Choker

AMAZING COUTURE VINTAGE GRIPOIX RED CHOKER. GRIPOIX has become very overused & used incorrectly. It is Poured Glass made by MAISON GRIPOIX Coco Chanel really put on the map. People list items as Gripoix when they are just glass, but in researching to get an idea on prices for this Necklace, I even saw Titles with Gripoix & Lucite in the same description! The tag on this necklace puts it at late 60s-early 70s & is I assure you TRULY A GRIPOIX BEADED PIECE. It is SO DIFFICULT to show in pictures how the Gripoix is so different than just glass. It is much heavier than a regular glass piece of it's size would be. If you hold it in your hand, you can see a somewhat circular pattern in the glass. Each bead is unique & it is in the imperfections and swirls of color that amplify the beauty. Gripoix pieces can be translucent, opaque, or a combination - which this one is. Red, especially a dark Ruby like this, had to be one of Coco Chanel's favorite colors as there are far more pieces with Red, which is closely followed by Green & she loved to combine them! This is one of the most Beautiful, Regal, and stunning pieces in my collection. Gold Plated Bead Caps Accent each hand poured oval bead, which are graduated in size from 18-20mm x 10-12mm to 30-32mm x 18-20mm on each side leading to a tear drop pendant 30mm x 20mm at widest point hangs. The Necklace is 21". It is in Excellent Condition, no tarnish or chips on the beads. THIS WILL BE A CHERISHED HEIRLOOM!
