@swillney yes it is! Early detection can make a huge difference! Breast cancer has touched my family as it has so many others. I know 6 women just in my small community that found cancerous lumps that were missed on mammograms. I want to educate as many women as possible!

@melissasmith686 so true!! My mom found a lump VERY early and that saved her life. I never thought cancer would hit our family but it did and unfortunately it can happen to anyone. It's so important to be an advocate for our health which is why I was so happy to see this. Thank you again for posting! 👍🏻

Saved mine! Women should not fear information...they should fear not taking action. Of course it's scary and it makes is anxious waiting for results, but delaying only limits your options and reduces your chances. It doesn't change the outcome of the test results. They will be what they will be. Don't be ruled by fear. Be your own best advocate. 💌

@newyork222 thank you so much for encouraging other women! I am so frustrated with the new recommendations for breast exams & mammograms! It truly can make a difference. It did in my family as it did in yours! Thank you for commenting. 😀

Thank you for your post and for advocating too. It's so important. My mom died of breast cancer just after her 42nd birthday, so I was diligent about my self exams. That's and acting on a lump is why I'm still here. I was still several years away from my first mammogram.

I admit it was confusing. I followed the directions and just really felt I didn't l know what I was doing. So I asked my ob/gyn and she put it in such a simple way that I was able to find my own lump. Basically, she said to (lol) get acquainted with how your boobs feel. Then you can feel if anything changes after that. 👍🏼

@lulala002 great news your mom caught hers early. My mom was fortunate to detect hers early as well. Cancer sucks but early detection does save lives!
