- Bundle of seven Greek worry beads, or ‘komboloi’, and evil eye, or ‘mati’ charms, beads, and amulets make up this assortment of items - Made in Greece; vintage from the 80s, and from the 2000s, picked up as souvenirs - Worry beads have been used by Greeks for centuries to pass the time, relieve stress, think, etc. There is a deep history about them and how they are played. Evil eye charms are known in parts of the Mediterranean to ward off envy and evil intentions Worry bead strands, lengths, and conditions include: - 1 vintage clear Lucite and gold glitter on silver tone chain- 9 1/2"; there is some discoloration at the bead hole openings due to wear from the chain moving within the beads, but not noticeable from afar - 1 vintage orange acrylic on white rubber cord- 6"; two or three of these beads have nicks on them, due to manufacturing - 1 bright blue marble-like and white barrels with a ‘Greece’ flag charm- 10 3/4"; brand new, no flaws - 1 small hand painted/stamped wood eyes interspersed with silver tone spacers- 8 1/2"; hand painted irregularities - 1 tiny dark blue and white glass beads, on temporary monofilament, with a few spilling over- 12" plus more loose; excellent condition Amulets (excellent condition, unless noted): - 4 larger glass and silver tone evil eye charms- 1/2" diameter - 1 small glass and sterling silver evil eye charm- 3/8" diameter; oxidation on silver - 1 ceramic garlic lucky charm, or ‘gouri’- 3 1/4"L x 13/16"W Sold as bundle only
