Hey Jamie ! I bought a bottle of this even though I was unsure about it lol. I have a few grays starting. So if I want to blend them leave for 5 minutes but if I do the 20 minutes will it change my hair color to the Coffee bean color ? I do have some carmel throughout my hair. If the color changes I would imagine the red would too ? Sorry so many questions.

Also does it stain everything ? Should I treat it as dye and cover up and gloves?

@stcbanta hey lady! The general rule of thumb is the longer you leave it on, the greater the amount of deposit. Since it doesn’t have a developer, it doesn’t open the cuticle so it works by staining the hair. It will deposit onto anything lighter than itself. I would definitely use gloves but you could also just wash your hands as soon as you’re done (like self tanner theory). I hope that makes sense and I didn’t get too technical on you! Lol

@jamiecessa lol no you didn't. after I wash it out really good do I have to worry about it coming off on stuff or it just fades ?

@stcbanta you should be ok with Coffee Bean. It’s not a super dark brown. Red Mahogany would be the only one I’d be overly careful with.

Is this more cool or warm brown?

@jblakely03 it’s a neutral brown so neither too cool nor too warm. If you wanted it more golden or auburn, you could try mixing in either Golden Blonde or Mahogany Red :)

@jamiecessa I’m looking for something more cool brown 😊

@jblakely03 this would be great then because it doesn’t have any golden or red undertones. I would say this would be the salon equivalent of a 5N or 6N

when mixing the red with the coffee bean to get auburn, what is the ratio?
Nov 12Reply

shoplastlooks
@jamielenralston it definitely depends on the shade of auburn you’re looking for. A general rule of thumb is that you take the lighter color first and add in the darker until you get the color you want. I would say around 2 parts red to 1 part brown would be a solid ratio but it just depends on how vibrant of an auburn you’d like 😊

@jamiecessa oh great! Thank you! i'd like to add a second red to my bundle i built if i can

@jamielenralston no problem. For some reason, Poshmark doesn’t let you add more than one of the same item to a bundle even through I have multiple tubes 🤷🏼♀️ I can make you a listing for 2 tubes of red and then you can add it to your bundle
