Making gift baskets for my local battered women's shelter. I bought most of what I need from a wholesaler. I'm still in need of. Mascaras, blushes, foundations, face powders, makeup brushes, cleansers, moisturizers, makeup removers.

pralinequeen That is so kind of you to do that. I'm sure it will boost their self esteem too ! In the past when I did a fundraiser the people of Nivea sent a lot of nice sized samples in quantity. Hope this info can help you out.

speejink @pralinequeen I wish I had Tim to do that. I just didn't move quickly enough. :(. But I will for sure next year. This will be part of my service to the community and a way for me to pay it forward for all the goodness that has come my way. I want to be for them what my friend Monica and my (now) parents were and are for me.

What you see pictured above is what I have purchased so far. There is a wholesaler on Merc getting rid of their inventory. Going out of business. I will post the name here for those who help :) I paid $12 for 72 lip liners. Same for eyeliners ... And so on. Awesome prices!!!

speejink @brijen2012 The shelter is very much in need of hair products, personal hygiene items and feminine hygiene products. Those are the things that go the quickest. Things like deodorant, toothpaste, tooth brushes, lotion, shampoos and conditioners, Q-tips, tampons, pads, liners, razors, shaving cream. The things all you ladies would like to have in a dire situation. Simple basics.

speejink @tlamerson thank you so much much GF!! I've been thinking that I want to figure out how to to do this year round. We have two of these shelters just a few miles from each other. This is not just a once a year need and it is certainly a nationwide need. Sad isn't it? The elderly and our women and children in such need.

evf Hi, you might create a post for women who travel a lot for work. I use to collect all the soaps, shampoos, lotions, etc from hotels and donate them at the end of the year to a women's shelter. -Evie

sumerc I have collected many samples from people who have shopped at Sephora and like the samples but feel better donating them to women who have walked away from everything during crisis.. We have a local group also that promotes community with the Buy Nothing Movement. People just give without really having to ask.

When I lived in Georgia, I volunteered quite a bit, but since I'm disabled now, I don't do as much because my health can be precarious so I don't plan things.
