This wool coat is black. Some of the pictures didnt come out black but it is. There is frayed detail along the waist and collar. It is a heavy coat even though it seems thinner when worn. One button on the left sleeve is missing, just found that out today...and ther is a small snag on the back of the coat. It is a simple black coat but I do love the details in the fabric. Stay it is an XL but is really more like a L with a little bit of wiggle room. Coat length 35 inches
