Hey friend! This post is to help connect equestrians on poshmark! Hopefully this can serve as a useful reference point for those selling or searching for items. I’m looking to share (and follow those who share) lots of horse related gear! Riding clothes, saddles, bridles, home decor, any horse gear. odette_xxx @b_mccleskey Hi! I am looking for some heavily worn english equestrian gear for a display depicting the hardwork and dedication of the sport. Would you have any crunchy leather riding glove, stinky helmets, wornout breeches or boots, zocks or tall riding socks u could sell. ? I am trying to depict visually and thru sense of smell so items with authentic odor would be lovely! thanks

b_mccleskey @marymccreery Hello! I personally have not, but I've seen quite a few that have! I know that shipping would be more expensive, but do not know how much (anything over 5 pounds is more). I see a lot of equestrian gear sell pretty quick on here though!

b_mccleskey @odette_xxx Hello! Thats great to know! I unfortunately do not have much old gear, I'll often sell or give it away to new students who want to try things before they buy, while they're still in good condition. You should check out the closets of some of the other commenters on this post though! I've looked through and most have a decent amount of horsey gear!

b_mccleskey @odette_xxx Also feel free to check out my shares, lots of old used saddle pads and things like that there (I teach riding lessons and train young horses, old used stuff is always handy when the horse may try to destroy it haha)

odette_xxx @b_mccleskey yeah thanks. I am trying to reach out to other equestrians. Do you wear zocks or other tall riding socks by chance? Maybe I could commission a pair that you could wear riding all week or something like that for $25-$35 if your riding in the winter as well? lmk thanks

b_mccleskey @odette_xxx I can ask around and see if I have something I could sell you definitely, I do ride year round. I have a semi old pair that I still wear a lot that I could definitely wear a bunch and then sell, I'd only charge enough to replace them (less than $25! haha)

odette_xxx @b_mccleskey ok great! Yeah I liked the thinner riding socks better since they seem to pick up the foot smell better than thick ones. I bought a pair that had that lovely sweaty, foot, leather and hay smell so that would be lovely if you could make them that authentic stink! haha I could pay more than $25 a pair if you were going to put some effort into it! How many rides would you need to make them reek? haha

b_mccleskey @odette_xxx This it truly one of the strangest requests I've had! When do you need them by? I can get them out at the barn as needed and try to have them to you by a certain date.

odette_xxx @b_mccleskey Hi! haha Yeah I could buy thru the end of summer if needed. wouldn't mind buying multiple pairs. I know summer is better than winter as more heat/sweat etc. maybe you could work up the fist pair of socks over the next couple weeks and do a smell check and let me know how they are coming? everyones feet are different, weather is different and riding durations are different so many factors...

odette_xxx @b_mccleskey also let me know if you can find a pair of crunchy sweat infused pair of leather riding gloves like I tagged you on. would pay $20-$40 for the right authentic pair like that. Also really wanted a helmet that had a sweaty smelly bad band/lining like they sometime get! its ok if have been fallin in as helmet not going to be worn riding

odette_xxx @b_mccleskey oh that would be lovely! maybe post them so I can have a look at what they look like? do you wear those special seamless briefs under your breeches to prevent panty lines when you ride in your breeches?

odette_xxx @b_mccleskey where did the breeches develop holes? on the legs where they grips the horse? It might be interesting to display a pair of those specialized equestrian briefs too because they are pretty unque if you wanted to sell a pair and replacement costs were similar to the socks.

b_mccleskey @odette_xxx just on the knees, and those I would sell for somewhere around 20. Most of the breeches have such heavy duty lining where the legs grip the saddle that they won’t develop holes there, it’s a serious problem with any other pants worn riding frequently 😂 (RIP jeans)

b_mccleskey @marymccreery agreed! But probably as they make money on any sale, they don’t mind us equestrians selling and buying horse related “clothing” (even if that clothing is for a horse😂)

b_mccleskey @odette_xxx I’ve recently had my old helmet fall apart on me, the lining is sweat insides and dried out, and has fallen out at this point, and the whole inside is pretty dead! If you’re still looking for quite used equine items, I’ll gladly post it for you!
