hunterkitty78 Thank you for helping the kitties! I have been volunteering with Save a Purrfect Cat Rescue out of Houston for 5 years now and have 3 adoptees and a foster from the rescue. ❤️❤️🐈🐈

fraufinster @hunterkitty78 I love your photo! I wish my cats would tolerate bow ties and accessories. If they did, I’d totally dress them up. But they aren’t that chill. I’m pretty sure I’d lose a finger. 😆

hunterkitty78 @daffodill21 thanks! only one of mine, Thomas, will and only for a minute or two before he starts trying to eat it and making me feel terribly guilty. I would in the ER if I pulled that with one of my girls and my other boy is such a klutz he would probably break his poor neck trying to find a way out. We call that photo Thomas’ office Christmas party photo. Your orange fluffy is so cute! I love them all though.

fraufinster @hunterkitty78 I agree! I love all furry critters. The fuzzballs above are all so cute! I just can’t believe they haven’t found homes yet. I’d bring them home, but we already have 4 rescues of our own. There’s just always too many homeless pets and never enough good homes. 😕

hunterkitty78 @daffodill21 I’m with you. I feel like everyone that contacts us wants a Siamese kitten or some sort of special fancy breed. Is it Instagram? Everybody has to have a name brand? We have soooo many incredibly sweet kitties ready to go home today but it seems like it’s getting harder and harder. I hope you aren’t seeing the same trend.

fraufinster @hunterkitty78 Unfortunately, I’d agree. It’s especially hard with the older cats. It seems like everyone wants dogs, and if they want cats, they want kittens, or like you said, they’ll want a purebred or a particular breed. It amazes me that there are people out there that still actually believe black cats are bad luck too! 🙄

hunterkitty78 @daffodill21 or that think spaying / neutering is a bad thing and refuse to do it with cats or dogs. Those same people will have a Dog’s tail docked or their ears clipped for aesthetic purposes but won’t have them fixed. The stray problem in Houston is insane. Not only do we have basically year round breeding season but people around here are terribly ignorant about pets.

fraufinster @hunterkitty78 I agree! It’s so crazy! I expect the ignorance from uneducated, poverty level pet owners, but it’s so frustrating when educated, wealthy people express the same ignorance. It’s like it’s just not the trendy thing to do, to have your pet spayed/neutered, and then that means they can’t breed them. 🙄

bellasb @fraufinster You are doing such a good thing! I actually prefer to adopt older cats— kittens are too rambunctious n needy; cats are happy to sit on my lap n purr— just what I want a pet for! And I can’t believe people only care about purebreds??? I look for the love in its eyes.

fraufinster @bellasb I completely agree! I wish more people felt the same! I’d forgotten how rambunctious kittens could be, until we fostered a litter a few years back. It made me appreciate how chill our old furkids are.

fraufinster @bellasb We currently have 4 senior rescues. Otherwise we’d take in some of the kitties featured above. It’s the saddest thing when they get abandoned and then pass away before ever getting to have a loving forever home. 😢

fraufinster @hotwiarstyles Awesome! It’s so hard to find homes that are a good match for each cat. It’s especially hard to find people that are serious about making a commitment to care for them for the rest of their lives. You wouldn’t believe how many adopters will later return a cat for petty reasons, as if they were an inanimate object, like a sweater or something. So they do a thorough screening process.
