Are the laces around the ankle removable?

@akaerin those straps are part of the shoe laces. That’s one long piece of leather around the boot then laced up the shoe.

Do these for true to size, in your opinion? I know Freebirds can sometimes run small in some styles. I’m a true size 8 and all of my other birds are size 8 and fit fine but I just want to be sure. Thanks!
