I have become a "spot a fake Betsey" pro because I was sucked into buying one here, and only noticed it was fake once received. It is super easy to spot them and I'm shocked there is such an unending abundance of them here. Makes me distrust the entire Poshmark community. Thank you for your honesty and for sharing your expertise here. Shame on those fake scammers!

@kimberivany It’s not just Posh. All online selling sites are rife with fakes. Factories in China even cross-brand some of the pieces. Reporting seems to do no good. I keep trying, but unless more people do it things won’t change. In reality, it’s up to the companies being counterfeited to go after these people before t it’s too expensive and widespread. So I’ve been told.

I am looking for the Skeleton ones. The pirate is next on my list if you have one. Somewhere I read that All the heads should be solid and not have holes in the backside but I am not sure if that is true or not. I am new to collecting and after reading your notes on Pinterest I am worried that I have bought a few fakes in the past few weeks. Ugh.

@jordad1 It’s sure possible. I bought my share of fakes in the beginning. I don’t have any pirate jewelry at present or nautical skeletons. Have you done a general search online? Google and Posh have a feature where you can search with an image. Screenshot from my P*nter*st board, save to photos then search with the photo to look for you want. Really helpful when you don’t know the collection’s name. As always, I’m happy to help you authenticate. 🙂

@jordad1 About heads on her jewelry. Generally speaking, they’re cut out with hearts or something related to the theme. But there are solid ones as well. It just depends.

Oh…the internet is overrun with 1000s of fake Betsey Johnson jewelry. EB*y is the worst, but all the selling sites have them. I’ve learned that people don’t know or just don’t care. Very frustrating.
