This is a 1961 hardcover edition of Franny and Zooey by famed author J.D. Salinger. The book — published by Little, Brown and Company , second printing — is in excellent condition and comes with the original dust cover. Salinger wrote Franny as a short story and Zooey as a novella, and both were first published in The New Yorker (1955 and 1957, respectively). The fictional characters are: college student Franny Glass, and her older brother Zooey Glass, an actor. Salinger explores family dynamics, emotions and religious philosophy in this coming of age classic. The 201-page New York Times best seller, in my family these 60-plus years, was well cared for. Ditto for the dust cover, with minor discoloration commensurate with age. A wonderful addition to any home library.
