nddaas Question: is the bottom of the plate raised? Like would the butter itself sit higher on the plate? ( as opposed to deeper from the edge of the plate)

greggfein Hi- I’m not home to check but i don’t believe so. Instead, the tip of the lid appears to be a raised to provide more space for the butter.

greggfein I checked and no, the bottom of the plate isn’t raised. There is a lip around the edges and the lid sits right on top of the plate to seal the butter. Here’s a closeup of the plate. I noticed you crated a bundle, so can you clarify if you would like to purchase? Let me know if you have any additional questions.

nddaas @greggfein sorry, I just noticed your question now. I was looking for a raised bottom dish for butter. Villeroy used to make them, but it looks like that was too long ago to find. Thank you though!!!

greggfein @nddaas no worries. I can’t say for sure, because I have never used the butter dish, but I’d suspect it wouldn’t run out of the bottom because of the slight downward gradient from the outer edge of the tray the middle. Have you had problem that in your experience with this kind of dish? If not, and you like the dish otherwise, do you want to purchase it to try, and if you’re not happy with it, return it to me?
