She is mostly shiny, but also has some dull finish. It looks to me like someone tried to remove some of the lacquer, but I can't be sure. A nice heavy piece with many uses. A remarkable example of metal workmanship. Hammered brass with copper pin construction. A magnet does not stick. Very good quality.
