Our sweet pups...Bailie our Lab we've had since she was 8 weeks old, now is 13 (sadly she passed on 8/23/17 ππͺ) Maddie, our Shih Tzu came into our lives at 9 weeks old, she is 5...then came Mr. Shiner a 7yr old Shih Tzu, who when finding he needed a new home we brought him into ours. She's adorable!! We just lost our baby girl. A 18 year old Lhasa. Had her since 6 weeks old. Passed in my arms looking me in my eyes. The most special moment. Truly. She had congestive heart failure and we made her last months the best they could've been. And she did the same for us. TRULY. TRUE AND PURE LOVE. πππ

@toyaa Thank you! I just wipe around her eyes with a soft damp cloth daily. I didn't realize shih tzu's had smelly tear stains, learned a lot after getting her as a puppy...but she's worth the maintenance!π

I just love her she is so adorable! I helped rescue a shih tzu not long ago and it turned out she was pregnant and I ended up with 1 of 5 puppies ,,only two lived in the litter, a male and female, the vet said he was mixed with terrier, maybe yorkie, but he's getting so big!

They are just the sweetest things:) The two that I have now get along great (one boy, one girl). Originally I had 2 boys but my Oreo passed away last October, still hurts:( And Jojo grew up with Oreo around so he had always been used to another dog. Luckily we found Buttons and her owner couldn't take care of her so we took her in. She was around other dogs and cats so it was no problem for them to be together. They are also near the same age:)

Has Maddie ever been around other dogs/animals? If you are thinking of maybe getting another hopefully you can do a test with Maddie to see if she adjusts well. Our excuse to have two was just so they wouldn't be alone and always have someone to play with lol:) Oh and thank you so much for the kind words on the rating:-D So happy you like the top!

I'm sorry about Oreo, I can't imagine that heartbreak (just yet)π My husband actually has a chocolate lab, she is 14, she's old and has arthritis so she lays around all day, she's not much of a playmate for Maddie as we had hoped three years ago when we brought Maddie home...our thoughts were that Maddie would be good for Bailie hoping to get her moving around a bit more but she has no interest.

I have thought of getting another Shih tzu as I love this breed and was curious how your two were together. That's my excuse for wanting another is because I feel Maddie needs another companion which I feel would also help when she is around other dogs, help with her doggy skills Lol!!!

Haha I could just see it now, Maddie shakes her head and the bows start flying. I remember those bandanas. When Oreo was a puppy I use to take him to Petsmart too and get the bandana lol:) Awww memories. But my mom learned how to cut my dogs hair after we got Jojo because it just cost too much to take both to Petsmart.

When Buttons hair got a little long I tried tying it up right on top of her head. Oh no she had none of that lol. 20 seconds later she was shaking her head uncontrollably and it flew out. I don't think I ever found that hair tie again lol.

@happystore Maddie is NOT a morning dog for sure! I get up around 7-8 in the morning and take her to my daughters room where she goes right back to sleep and will stay there till 12-1 in the afternoon and still care nothing about getting up and going outside to potty! I don't know how that dog does it!π

LOL that's how my Oreo was:) When I had to go to school, I had to get up before everyone. So when I woke, Oreo woke, but he easily went in my mom's bedroom to go right back to sleep. No need to go potty. But as he got older (around 10), he started to get kidney/urinary stones and I had wondered if it was due to all those mornings when he didn't go because he just slept instead. I never got to ask the vet.

Buttons and Jojo don't have that problem. Once they wake they have to go outside to go potty. Then they come back in to go back to sleep and never any trouble at going back to sleep lol:) And don't ever worry about taking too long to respond or not respond with me:) I am the worst at it LOL!

I adore pups! I have 2 now, a rescue Cocker Spaniel that we got when she was 13 weeks old, and a tiny poodle that we got about 3.5 months ago, because she needed to be rehomed. I had a Shizoodle before, that lived to be 16, and she was adorable to the very end. I always have a pup or two in my life. Can't imagine not having my babies. They bring so much joy, it is worth every ounce of trouble!! Your Maddie is adorable!!

Wish I could have a lil doggie, again. She would look just like your adorable lil Maddie. After being fatigue daily and my medical physicians not being able to figure out what was wrong. I decided to go to an allergist and much to my surprise there are many things in my day-to-day life that are causing me to be very ill. One of the things is my allergy to dogs, cats, even birds and I have a parrot. I'll just have to love them from a far. Give Maddie a hug for meπ

@happystore She wasn't happy that day, I was busy putting up the Christmas tree and she wasn't getting any attention and I found her snuggled in her bed with her Christmas bear and blanket that my daughter had got her the day before...it was too cute that I of course had to sneak a picture! @happystore Hey my sweet bestie, it's been a crazy weekend, both my stepdaughter and stepson graduated from College on Saturday and we had their parties on Sunday and I finally got to meet my new grand-dog Evie who has moved in and stole our hearts (In the last picture) She is so tiny! Maddie is not so sure about her just yet but she hasn't growled or tried to attack her so that's a good thing.

@happystore My daughter accepted a job in Orlando and will be moving in January or February depending on when the new business opens, so just about the time Maddie gets really use to her they will be moving awayπ I hope all is well with you and your family and with sweet Buttons, JoJo and NeNe! Please forgive me for my non existing responses LOL:) I haven't forgotten you, and every time I see you sharing I tell myself "I'm going to respond back to Kathy now" but at the end of the day I can't seem to keep my eyes open LOL. Speaking of Christmas...Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Belated New Year. Geez it's been late long since my late response lol. I hope your holidays was good with the family. How has Maddie been with Evie? Have gotten along with her any better? Jojo hasn't really gotten use to Nene. No play time with her. It's more like "ok I acknowledge she's here, now let me got back to sleep" But I really think Buttons will miss Nene.

Anytime we take Nene for potty training outside, Buttons will wait by the door until we come back in. Has Evie started potty training? How about the chewing? Nene is still the Piranha, but has gotten a little better with the chewing. She is a little pocket thief though. If you have something in your pockets, she'll find it and take it out.

@special_stuff We got Maddie almost five years ago from an awesome reputable breeder outside of Dallas, if interested I can see if she is still in business, as I haven't been in contact with her since, but if so I can get her information for you. My husband and I are planning on getting another soon but this time we want a rescue.πΆβ€οΈ

I love to do that with Sampson as well π I can tell little Maddie loves posing for the camera though! Sampson has a little underbite so his pictures can come off a little goofy sometimes π

@kden_wallace Just wanted to let you know everything went well. Sampson has a corneal ulcer and is getting drops right now to treat it. He certainly doesn't like it though! He also has dry eyes so he will be getting ointment everyday for the rest of his life. Hoping the follow up appointment goes well next week! Love the new pictures you posted! Maddie is looking absolutely darling! Hope your staying warm too, it sure is getting cold here in Ohio βοΈ Sending well wishes your way π

I am happy to hear that Sampson is doing well, I'm sure he doesn't like those drops and poor thing having to have the ointment each day, I know what that's like as I suffer from dry eyes as well but poor Sampson doesn't understand why, hopefully he gets much relief though and this helps him. @98101 Actually that is not an ornament, it is just a frame from an app that I inserted Maddies picture into...it does look like the real deal but it's just a picture. I would love to have the same for my tree if I knew where I could have an ornament made like that. Look up "PIP Camera" app, it has several different cool frames to use if you want to add Sampson or your family. ππ

@98101 It is probably nowhere near as cold as Ohio here, I am in Texas, we were in the upper 50's today, will be mid 70's Friday & Saturday, then come Sunday we will see highs in the 30's. I am ready for some cold weather so I can actually wear my winter clothes and fit in with the season that it is! Lol! Hope you have a great week ahead and keep me posted on your handsome fella! Morkie's are just as adorable!! π My daughter who is also in nursing school moved out not long ago, she has a Yorkie and It's been tough not having that little energetic puppy around, she has a lot of spunk which I find I miss. I have pictures of her toward the bottom of my closet. Shih tzus are more laid back lap dogs which is absolutely wonderful, they are great companion dogs. How is the temperament of a Morkie?

We actually, a couple of weeks ago adopted a male shih tzu, haven't had a chance to add pictures yet but he's a year older than Maddie and double her size. She's about 8 pounds and he's 18, but such a well mannered sweetheart. His given name is Shiner and I wanted so much to name him Max, so I would have a Max and Maddie but he's 6 yrs old and definitely use to his name.

I remember when I was in nursing school during our training at a nursing home I met the most delightful older lady whom had to surrender her dog to move to the facility. She missed her so much but she told me something that I've always remembered and that is her remark she would make to people who would tell her that they don't like dogs. She would always say to the person that she felt sorry for them.
