mrschi @spfeifer99 Hello. Thank you so very much! I think you will enjoy Poshmark. My tips are to build your closet by selecting a Posher like myself who has a lot of followers and follow all the people that follow them. 50-60% of those people will follow you back almost immediately. Keep doing that every day. Also, find the new people list and follow all those people. People with very small or no closet items are historically the people that purchase.

mrschi @spfeifer99 Another one is think of your closet as your own personal boutique. How hold you want it to look, what would you sell? How would it be set up? Make sure your boutique has the overall image of what you picture your boutique to look like, from picture quality, items being sold, arrangement, etc. people on Poshmark like name brand, trendy items. People like Alvictoria are great closets to look at to see what is on trend.

That’s what I’m trying to figure out, I wanted to go the route of vintage jewelry; it’s only been a little over a week and I have sold 9 things (now of course, that’s nothing to go on vacation with 🤣) but I’m pondering my decision but want to give some more time. I’d like to add more necklaces, bracelets, and earrings too. Any suggestions for my overall closet look!? Again... thank you for taking the time to talk to me! 💖

mrschi @spfeifer99 I took a look at your closet and it is absolutely beautiful. I would go with your gut and specialize in areas where you have knowledge and can select items that are truly unique. You have clearly done that with vintage brooches because they are very unique, and obviously selling. Stick to areas that you know good, rare pieces when you see them. You are doing very well for starts. Just keep building followers.

mrschi @spfeifer99 Also, I looked at your profile. I would not announce that you source from thrift stores. Buyers do not need to know that information, as in my opinion, it could sell down your items as far as pricing. A retailer never tells that, so why would you? You might also do some comparative shopping of similar items already sold (on Posh, Ebay, etc) when pricing your items to ensure the best price, especially for unique pieces. People will generally ask for a discount.

mrschi @spfeifer99 Looking at the items you sold and the prices you sold at, those appear to be very unique pieces. To be honest, I would not be surprised if another reseller or shop owner bought those pieces to resell themselves at a higher price. Do some searching on vintage frog, vintage Winnie the Pooh brooches, airplane brooch, etc and see what they sell for individually. Don’t cheat yourself. Those are NICE. People collect things like airplanes, cats, frogs, etc.

Rather than going the route of “cheaper” I prob should’ve advertised “rare” and priced higher. Thank you!! It’s funny because I can find a very similar item for $$$$ as well as $. Makes pricing difficult.
