Hornwort is a great plant for getting a new tank cycled, or helping get a leg up in a newly planted tank or when you’ve got an algae bloom. It’s also great for breeding livebearers, giving the fry perfect places to hide and feed while they’re tiny; and makes a great jungle gym for shrimp tanks. I love the jungle-feel it brings. I’ve included a photo of my 10 gallon South American tropical tank with hornwort happily floating at the top, to demonstrate. Hornwort is a low light plant. In brighter settings it will turn lighter green or light tan, with pink/reddish tips. Please note: do a hydrogen peroxide dip before introducing new plants to your tank(s), (Google knows how) if you don’t want to introduce any hitchhikers, whether invertebrate or microorganism. ***Aquarium not for sale.***
