I hesitated posting about it, but I also wanted to give someone else strength if possible to get out of a bad situation (and because even though it took 10yrs for me, I'm proud to be free). Congratulations to you with your new life. It feels incredibly reassuring to know that I'm not alone. It will take a while to undo all of the hurt that I went through.

julesrn07 I want my children to grow up knowing what true love is and that this is NOT what marriages/relationships should be like. It's all so fresh - I got an order of protection and filed for divorce in the same day (January 19th). It was surreal and like I was on auto pilot knowing that I needed to break free.

neon_orange @twins070610 Amazing example to set for ur kids! Taking charge/taking action to make positive change even though it is difficult. I've been in emotionally/verbally abusive situation and it's amazing how the abuser can suck a person back into the same thing over and over. It took me a move across country to finally get rid of mine. One of the best decisions ever! Very best wishes to you!🍃🙏🍃🌸🌸🌸

julesrn07 @neon_orange - thank you for sharing your story. The more that people tell me what they went through, the less alone I feel. He is only allowed to contact me via text for right now and only to ask about the children. So far, he is still trying to tell me what to do/control me even for ridiculous things like doctor's appointments for the kids and telling me not to take them. Ha! That's not how this works.
