Hi! I'm Ginger, a former flight attendant & ASL interpreter who works part-time w/ kids w/ special needs. My husband & I have each lived & traveled abroad but lead a quiet life. We enjoy kayaking, strategy games, time w/ loved ones, ice hockey & love life with our rescued dogs, one dainty & shy, the other a total goofball! I'm thankful for parents who lived lives of service & for God's creation & perfect love. I'm new to Posh this Spring and so cherish the great gals I've met. -Warmest Wishes❤️

Awww, @lalalilly. Yes, our fur-babies are our babies! ;) And it's funny... When I was told how you get to know lovely people here, but how closets have tens of thousands on up of followers, I couldn't picture how you could connect with anyone in particular, but already as my number of followers is slowly growing, I'm finding several lovely gals (like yourself) that stand out from early on as the sort of people you'd like to meet in real life, ya know? :) Thank you again!

Hi! I was overwhelmed at first too. More than likely people are following you bc they saw you are new. You don't have to share each one. If you notice in your feed you will see if they share your closet. If they share your closet return some sharing love. If they didn't, I wouldn't worry too much. You will gain followers by sharing peoples closets that you choose, ones you like.. ok

If you have time return some shares, if not it won't stop me from coming back to share yours.. It's not about getting to everyone. You will miss some. It's caring & sharing. Great questions! As you'll see in the post at the bottom of my closet, I've been having a hard time finding posh-life balance! Maybe set aside some time blocks to Posh, and be done when time is up. That's hard bc it's addictive, and the more you Posh, the deeper you get in. Try to return as many shares as you can, esp when someone shares a large amount from your closet. That means they actually came into your closet to look and share, rather than just sharing from the newsfeed. @travelbugginger

You can also narrow your notifications to "comments only" so you won't miss those, esp questions from potential buyers. As for remembering specific closets and items, if you hit the like button, it will be saved to your likes. But I'll warn you that my likes got,overwhelming quickly. You can also make a listing titled "closets I love to share" or something like that, many do this, or just keep,a personal list somewhere on your phone or iPad. @travelbugginger

I'm already finding that since I'm a slow texter and just acquired a smart phone this year, that it's easier to take care of tending to my closet on the phone, but handling interactions, likes, shares, etc. on the desktop. ...And yes, I need to watch that posh-life balance. ;)

I love your intro too!! There is a lot of warmth and happiness to it- that's so wonderful. And your husky is GORGEOUS. I love huskies! I wish we could have one! And I love that you rescued too. I love that almost everyone I meet when I'm walking my pup, Percy, has rescued their dog. I feel like there has been a major, major shift and that it is so much more common now than it was even 10 years ago.

It makes me so happy. I'm training Percy to be a therapy dog and, if he passes a course in June, which I think he will with flying colors, I can start taking him to nursing homes, libraries (to sit with children who are anxious about reading), hospitals, anywhere where there is a need for therapy dogs. I can't wait. All the best to you!

You & I are on the same boat. somehow when on posh Don't even notice but hours have gone by! Everyone does things differently U shouldnt feel obligated to share every single closet. just what U can or if someone shares a few of yours U share a few back (if U can). I follow as well. I think it's double exposure. I am really trying to build this up for me now as literally a small business. I've seen some closets who have sold 1000+ items and have 100k+ followers, awesome & motivation.

@travelbugginger Ginger. It can be overwhelming at first. You will decide what you want to do on Posh. Not all tag parties, intro new people etc., we all should SHARE BACK. And you may have a list of girls you love to share daily. You only need to respond to your feed really... It will get easier. If you want to respond to parties etc., you can copy and paste something from your notes to save time. Hope that helps!😊

@fifig23 Thank you so much for the warm welcome! :) Yes... I, too, am really glad to see so many folks rescuing dogs. I know folks who've bought from very reputable people who only breed on a small scale, treat their dogs well and are, themselves, involved in rescue work and am glad those dogs have good homes, but the rescue trend is so encouraging. Our shelter here is able to be essentially "no-kill" because rescue is so very common in our area. :)

@fifig23 I wish you the very best with Percy! That's awesome. At this point I don't think our dogs would pass that test... One, especially, is so timid and nervous when surrounded by people. However, they're both very sweet and between visiting our former neighbor in assisted living now (and any other residents who flag us down once there), and visiting those in other contexts in need of puppy cheer and comfort, they've become unofficial therapy dogs. ;)

@courtmar We play a lot of the suitable for 2+ players "Euro" games. Some of our favorites are Agricola, 7 Wonders and one we just got that's super fun called "Dead of Winter." It's a zombie game that's both cooperative and competitive.... Lots of fun with 3 or more! Played it last night and I didn't know 'til the end that my husband was actually a saboteur! ;)

@travelbugginger Awe!!! I bet he was a handful though!! My little girl has 5 opossum under her belt so far this year. All 9lbs of her. She's patient, fearless and tenacious. Deadly combination. And oh boy does she want the squirrel living in the park across the street. He literally admonishes her when he sees her. She's attempting to learn to climb trees haha! My dog I grew up with was lab, Doberman and chow chow and he lived to be 17.5 years old @77lbs! Not bad!!

Our girls haven't had the same opportunity yet, but we've seen signs of it and they've grabbed a couple of birds and been sprayed by a skunk, so given their breed, I don't trust them around little animals. Looks like you're just down the road in Hermosa? Amazing how much wildlife there is even in the coastal towns, eh? You must miss you Chow-Chow mix. Such a long life... You must have done a lot of things right! 😊

@janimack7 Actually, I'm not sure where you'd look. I think I caught on by a very welcoming Posher telling me about it and seeing them in others' closets. Some folks like to connect a little more personally (like me) and others like to just give you a way to "bookmark" their closet. Basically, you just make a listing like you would for any other item you're selling, only you fill in the price with 0 or some crazy number.

I've moved all my life, and love where I'm at now that I've married and settled down here, but southern Arizona will always feel like home to me, I think. I meant to tell you...I ran into a woman recent!y when I was biking and she had a yard with Siberians in it. I became friends with her and the dogs. I looked forward to seeing them on my rides until one morning, they weren't there one day. The neighbors told the Police they were "violent ,noisy and dangerous" !!! She finally got them back!!! COME ON!!!W e both know how loveable and funny they are! They don't even BARK!! They howl! Stupid uneducated neighbors! Anyway....that's my rant!

We live in a very dog-friendly area, but even so, we keep our girls in from 9:00-9:00 other than a late night potty break, and I've gone to all our neighbors to let them know not to be alarmed by the sounds they hear from our yard sometimes, as they can sound like they're killing each other when they play!... Very typical for northerns, even though they're having a ball. Educating can help... But then you gotta hope you have nice neighbors, eh? 😉

Yeah, I miss my puppy dog! You could groom him and have a pillow case of down fur! Right???!! Yours have the same eyes as mine did. We had pups with the female and just gave them to good homes. Mine use to climb wire fences to get out and run! Do yours do that? I've gotta get some din din. Yak at ya latta. Lesley

@saundie Definitely been keeping you folks in that area of the country in thought and prayer, Saundra. I know what those storms can be like. When I lived in San Antonio in the late 90s we had some of the worst flooding in decades and lives lost. Very hard. Hope the area recovers soon.

@whiteflower_ Whether a puppy or rescue, we always tell folks if it's their first AK Malamute or Siberian to research and be ready! They're amazing dogs but (you may know this) not as low-maintenance as some and often end up in rescue because of the digging, the extreme shedding, escape tendencies, the prey-drive, being less than cooperative in training especially on the recall, and they're very pack oriented so don't do well as only dogs unless you're with them a lot! :) More below.....

@whiteflower_ Northern puppies don't often end up in rescue as they're so darned cute so don't get surrendered until they don't look like pups anymore, and sadly, there are so many "puppy mills" as I'm sure you know, but I believe there are some folks in your neck of the woods who are legitimate, ethical, small scale breeders who truly care for their dogs. We've met some. Before we rescued these girls we visited some up there and were going to get a Malamute puppy.....

Absolute pleasure to meet you Ginger😊 I love your Bio and your fur babies! I think our fur babies are like our children, they are usually so different in personality! I still think it's crazy how my 2 teen boys free up with all the same surroundings, etc, and are so different, which easily allows them to be great friends.

@hydrogirl Yes, they are our "babies." So different, but bonded as can be. When we rescued Mol, I was hesitant because her description was too similar to our other girl ("very shy"). I felt we needed a different personality to help bring our Abby out of her shell, but my hubs said, "Awww... but she had me at 'Wooooo'." ;) So we got her & what a friendly, goof-ball she turned out to be. Perfect fit & I can't imagine that I ever thought of saying no to bringing her home!

I noticed you mentioned ASL, I signed when I was in high school but lost most of it because my friend moved away. We moved to FL 3 years ago and started to take a refresher course at church. My husband and I took the first class and we had a great time. However, our teachers moved and the classes stopped. Happy Poshing! 😊🌴

My husband had one for 14 years and speaks of how incredibly loyal they are, and our girls' BFF (Best Furry Friend) is a German Shepherd up the street. I hear ya... I'm here!" kinda girl. She and Abby have our hearts wrapped around their paws. I love the sweet pics of kitties. We can't have cats right now with these high pre-drive dogs (they're rescues and weren't raised with them so we don't chance it), but love cats, too.

@choucampbell ...That's cool that you've got some ASL skills under your belt. I did my studies in deaf ministry and used to be a church and educational interpreter. I was board certified in TX, and I'd like to get back into it, but there have been changes to CA law, so until I get my national certification I can't interpret K-12 anymore. Expensive and time consuming, but I might do it. 'Til then, as there's need in ministry. Again, so nice to meet you, Chou. God bless!

@richbororiches Actually, when I first joined almost 2 months ago, I think there was something similar that I'd "liked" on here... been so busy just keeping my head above water that I've not gotten back to it. ;) I think I'm starting to figure out a schedule and find a groove though, so if you start something like that I'd definitely love to see it. We lost our wolf-husky 3 years ago. She'd been my husband's baby since way before he met me. It was heartbreaking to lose her, but these girls we've adopted have definitely brought a lot of new joy into our lives. I'm glad you had the joy of a husky in your life. :)

He looked just like the one biting your couch! We've adopted so many critters since but that dog was incredible. AKC champ but abused, abandoned we were his 4th home. But he hit jackpot because every day he was on this earth I made up for his awful beginning. Died of brain tumor THREE years after his 3 month prognosis. We did not want to part. They are incredible, sensitive beings. Nice u live 2!!

@closetmeister I always feel good about critters who may have had a rough start in life but end up with the best. Mol (our goof ball with her mouth gaping), had a loving start in life, with a young woman who just lost the circumstances to keep her, but Abby and her littermates were found abandoned and living near a highway. She's a little angel, and is making strides in trust, but still a little skittish of people. Sounds like yours was a very lucky fella once he got to you!

Ginger, your spirit is so loving! I totally understand about the need to use a "shortcut" to meet & greet.... I made that same discovery. I also find I am not thanking people for tags for the same reason. I am SO GRATEFUL for all of them, but find it difficult to manage all the communications...and with the group of ladies that share with me, I guess I feel they understand.... @janimack7 You have such a sweet spirit, Jan, and an "attitude of gratitude." I don't think you're taking anything for granted. I've found that for those people who tag me often (especially those who mass tag several times a day), I've just dropped in and let them know that the tags are appreciated even if I'm unable to get to all of them, and then get to some as reasonably able (and am realizing that I've got to keep in mind the "reasonably" part). They've all been so gracious about it! :)

My moms been to the e.r. 2x in just the last 3 weeks. She's ok, more emotional & possibly depression. It's so draining especially her and I don't get along too well. I've been dealing with my sons dad & the move, had a break up, and even met someone new! Lol. All within 2 months. So yea I'm good! How are you??

Yes, Ma'am. Coach Stallings is the epitome of a Southern Gentleman. The work that he and his family did while in Tuscaloosa at the University is still being felt with the Stallings Center, which was developed for children with special needs. @alise28 To answer your question, it's a sea anemone. They're amazing really... This local variety looks like just a dark blob with bits of shell stuck on when the tide is out, then open up like a flower once the tide comes in. They've got stinging cells to catch tiny food (though these are safe to touch), and some of them clone themselves, then when they come in contact with others that aren't a clone, they have little "clone wars" and separate, leaving little paths between themselves. :)

We own our company, and work remotely, so he extended our stay an extra day if I agreed to work on my big sales presentation there! I was like "YES!" @travelbugginger Like you, I was offline and boy I'm paying for it. 😔. I've lost a lot of momentum. But my husband comes first. I'm not sure how your husband is, but mine is a bit challenged with how much time PM takes. So it was so important for me to put it away and make him keep him priority #1. (Which he knows he is all the time). I know God will honor this. I'm going to have to work extra hard to reconnect with everyone and definitely get myself reinserted into the mix.

Lots of people are, and there's a ton of extra attention, new followers and traffic on my closet right now, but not one bit of difference in sales. It is what it is, and if more sales come eventually that's cool, but if not, I'm still going to enjoy the honor and the fun of co-hosting.

@fashioniata Like you, Terri, I want my husband (and others areas of my life) to have priority over Posh. There's a special community here that I care about, but I have to keep my time on here in its place. My husband is supportive of my efforts here, but I know how I feel when our time is interrupted or minimized by his being unavailable. We vowed to treat each other as we'd wish to be treated. You're right, Terri, God will bless you for prioritizing that relationship.

@fashioniata I'm so glad you had a lovely anniversary trip and were able to extend it a little while. May God bless your marriage. BTW, I was away for a few days for my in-laws' 50th. It was such a restful and meaningful time, but when I came back I was crazy behind on my feed ("paying for it" as you said). I realized I'd undo a lot of the blessing of that time if I slaved like crazy to catch up.

@fashioniata ...(I'd done that last time I had opportunity for a rest and family time... came back relaxed but to such a crazy feed that I spent 12 hours my first day back catching up, only to be exhausted again), so this time, I scanned my feed for the most important things and let almost everything else go. Don't know if you feel comfortable doing that, and I don't mean to advise you in an area you may already be comfortable managing your own way, but it helped me a lot! :)

We're coming up on our 4th anniversary soon (can't believe it... feels a lot shorter, but so much has happened in that time). It's right at the end of his summer session of teaching and right before some major appointments for me, but there is a window, so I'm going to work today on putting together a surprise getaway for him this time! :)

It's funny, we've had so much going on it our first year (we are blending 19,18 and 16 year olds, my oldest is 24) and it's been a VERY challenging year to say the least!

@travelbugginger Ginger, congrats to your in-laws as well! 50 years! wow! I threw my parents a 50th Anniversary Party 2-1/2 years ago when they hit theirs and it was beautiful. I've seen my parents make it work through everything, including buying and owning a business together for 23 years. It's all because they have a godly marriage. My mother has always been a wonderful example for me to model

@fashioniata Here I am, still the relative new girl on the block, handing out advice. ;) Actually, any wisdom in it has come from wiser women than I, inside and outside of Posh. To answer your question, no, I don't work full-time and can't imagine doing this at all if I did (though I am not a great multi-tasker or high energy kind of gal and know that there are others who are and who do). I do work in special ed. part-time.

@fashioniata At the 3 mo. mark here I'm definitely having to evaluate things and work to only allow Posh to be a healthy presence in my life, a "time-investment to income" ratio that makes sense (or at least looks like it will eventually) and a way to enjoy sweet friendships and minister to others. Figuring that all out is still a work in progress for me at this point. ;)

@fashioniata I agree... It is precious to see those who've shared so many yrs of marriage through thick and thin and looked to God to survive "the thin." My parents did as well. They celebrated their 50th the same yr my hubby and I married (it was fun honoring that at our wedding). They were married nearly 53 yrs, but we lost my dad last yr. My hubby's parents are so precious and also have a loving relationship. I'm so thankful for both examples.

@travelbugginger Regarding the full work thing and PM, it's becoming a bit much on some days. My husband have started this new company and it is really taking off. Plus, when we started it, I've been in the piddle of making a ton of custom pillows for my neighbor, making our own home drapes/pillows and listing and sharing. In having to really look at things a bit differently.

Oh how cute. I still love to share your closet because of your dogs. They are so delicious and cute. I think the English Mastiff is the biggest of the Mastiff's. They sure can cuddle. I love your dogs one is quiet and the other should be on Broadway. You do not have to go crazy with the shares. You have a beautiful family. She is the more serious of the two but also getting old on us. I am dreading the day we lose this precious fur baby. I have two grown children. My son is 24 and has been married a year and my daughter is 20 and will be getting engaged soon. I am disabled but I feel so incredibly blessed. It is really nice to meet you. Good morning. A nice little holiday is the best medicine for relaxing. Love your puppies. I so agree I have to limit Poshmark it feels like 18 hours a day. But you are making me smile with the pup camp. Mol loves the gentle giants. That is the sweetest. My guys lay on the couch a lot. But we are fenced in and have a yorkie.
