Hey everyone! I've had a ball for the most part here on Poshmark. There are really some amazing people here and I feel blessed to have met so many. I'm an animal advocate and involved heavily in the rescue world. I own a business which has been very rewarding and allows me lots of free time now. I love anything that can be worn. I live for volunteer work! In Palm Beach I worked at three different organizations and considered myself a kind of "Pet Broker" hooping up human personalities with pet ones!! I think I'm like an animal whisperer or something. Since I moved to DC I've only volunteered for a homeless soup kitchen. I just wish I could get rich doing what I love!! Pet fundraising and rescue, fostering, adopting, donating....any and everything related to these organizations! I would love to be a Director of a non-profit no kill shelter.

Thank you for doing what you do! I always rescue my dogs and previous was a 90lb boxer involved in dog fighting, but he turned out to be the biggest baby and great family dog! What kind of dog is in your photo? He/ she is gorgeous!

@clemsongal I apologize for just now seeing your post. I recently lost a very close friend and in 2 weeks lost my precious mare and had to put down a welsh terrier that was rescued from a horrific puppy mill. Needless to say it has been a rough few weeks but we gotta get back up and live our lives and keep doing the work we love. This is a picture of a 10.5 yr old boxer I rescued just over a year ago before we had to let go and send him on over the rainbow bridge. I knew before accepting him it would be a short lived life with him, but i am so proud he made it with us to celebrate a year..
I have a blind boxer that came to me in Feb, and has my heart just swallowed up. The little rascal. I have never had favorites, but he came into my life at a very crucial time and i can tell you that this rescue was meant to happen and the fact he ever made it out of a very rural shelter in north GA is just amazing. i have rescued over 60 animals since i began my journey, We have counted them all that have come, gone and still hanging tight with us and I want to say 62 or 64 is the total. Anyway, that doesn't matter but what is so interesting is that they each were/are very special and unique, but as I have tapered off the volume (the highest count alive got to 32 so it had to not grow even though oddly enough they were all in manageable numbers in their separate living quarters ha) .
I am on the board of one rescue and will always be active in ways that suit the animals best, but I'm at my present limit of 2 dogs and 3 cats inside. Two of the cats go out and just sit on the driveway or run around in the back yard. They are like dogs. lol My divorce and decision to sell my farm added to the different path i chose to take, but it is the right one and most beneficial for the animals i presently have and their needs as well.
I will tell you, i cried when i read about your sweet baby being tortured but thankfully saved. I just find myself wanting to beat the hell out of these pathetic excuses for humans. Why??? Why??? where in God's name do you stir up the desire to watch and gamble on this horrific "sport". I can't talk about it because it makes me so upset and right now i am really digging deep for strength and resolution to things, but let me congratulate and thank you from the very bottom of my heart for taking these animals that just want to be loved into your own heart and home. God bless your spirit and desire. I am so blessed to read your post and know that yes, we are doing what we all can even if it is just one by one. Never will this problem be resolved, but I am determined to touch the lives of as many toss away animals as i am capable of doing. They will know at least for the time they are being handled through me or living at my home that they are very special and so loved. I do believe each one with me has "gotten" that and I am grateful that the message was received into their sweet little hearts and minds.
Well, i could talk animals and rescues for hours, but I won't bore you to death. It is my greatest joy when i hear of a desperately needed rescue like your boxer. I cry thinking about it, You will be rewarded richly for your love.

So very kind of you both.....@ooofah1 and @cboyd221 Hey, @ooofah1 , speaking of our "Rocky's", this is one I reached very late in his life. He had already passed the life expectancy for an average Boxer, but I he wasn't an average Boxer. He broke my heart in particular because his heart had been broken too many times I'm a very short amount of time. I was so hopeful that he would be able to make it for a year with me. He was a year and one month when he told me with those big eyes that would look at you so gently, it is time. I got him into a couple of shots with me and I'm so glad he did really good considering his health. I will have to find a picture of little Rocky!

But I want to be a solid size 10 with my weight at wr I h e 125-130. I have been smaller and looked awful. You are taller huh? Well we have each other a anyway. Ha

@jacqueray such a lovely and caring woman you are!!! I help with a rescue too. It is Go Rescue Pet Adoption Center in Norfolk, VA. I have 2 babies from there but I sell Scentsy to make extra money to donate, usually in the form of vet bills. Recently I helped 2 dogs get heartworm treatment and have 2 more to help this month. I uses to go there physically but I have chronic pain so I had to figure out an alternative way to raise a little extra per month. I just got in to rescue about 2 years ago now. But I started rescuing dogs as a kid... Strays followed me home, seriously though, we do have 2 strays that were "tossed" away and 2 from the rescue. 3 others were dogs I couldn't leave in a pet store! I know better now about buying from there. Our oldest dog is 12.5 and was from a breeder. And has more medical problems than any of them and has since puppyhood. So, 3 Jack Russell's, 2 chi's, a Pekingese and a chi mixed with who knows what. Ha! She is our youngest girl. Only 1.5 years old and has one eye. She is the happiest spirit I have ever known! She is my second attempt at "fostering" - I am a failure at that, they grab my heart and I can't let them go. I would bring them all home if I could. So would my husband. He loves them all as much as I do. That's how I knew we were right for each other when we met in 1995. He was good to my dogs! And they loved him. 🐾❤️🐶

@impasternack haha. I love that about you and your husband! So awesome. Yeah no one is allowed very close to me that doesn't love my animals. They aren't asked to make their laps available at any given time without calling one to come and visit, but they won't be put away or kept out of any living space they are typically used to making their way into just as if it were only us here. This is their home. Period. =)

@randirod sorry for the delay but I'm glad you found what you wanted. I am pretty versed with the bulk of the foundation pieces of the line. The past few year special editions are what I have had little to care about. The replica cherries are what puy me I over the edge. I was done. I still have a catalog that the Chicago boutique gave me when I was in the middle of my love affair. lol let me know if you need names or measurements. If I don't know it right off hand, I cab easily look it up.
Glad you made it back. I missed you last night. Was heading to bed and all hell broke loose on my ipad. I swear I was such a moron trying to get where I needed to be. The complete and total shock of the HP was the best part. It almost cost me my life, but it was crazy fun.

@trivera7610 .....I would normally gasp at that many cats or dogs or even potbelly pigs, yes pj's..... because I have been a part of disbanding horrifying hoarding cases with all 3. It starts out with good intentions but then it is just a nightmare. If he can adequately care for them all, well God bless him. I would help him as I was a able if he was close.
I'm very familiar with the vet bill of almost that many at my farm (I had the horses, a lamb, goats, potbelly pigs, plus the dogs and cats) and they were in my personal care. Not listed under any rescues records as their responsibility thus me 100% financially paying for with no charitable contributions of tax write offs. Which is fine. I'm not complaining. I never accept any of the money rescues would give toward things or that was allocated for stuff i might be involved in. These are the only thing I have known as kids and I haven't once had to put them through pvt school, college, etc. So I'm thinking that it's still cheaper than college. Haha
You guys always have me reflecting on those intense, very active animal days. It is never the hard work and timed I think about, but the little lives we'd pull into out arms and care. **tears** those faces are still imprinted in my brain.
Okay. Enough of that for now.

@punkyprincess82 isn't he a doll? Sorry to say that his time had sadly come to an end last year. I was finally forced to put him down in August. I kept hanging on to his beautiful self. He just didn't want to let me see him hurting and so I felt like he was doing okay. He outlived by far his life expectancy. He had gone through such a sad life only toward the end of it. Before I rescued him. Heartbreaking. How are you? girl....,,if you saw me lots of the time at home chillin you might retract that precious compliment. Haha. Thanks so much though. I'm so so sooooo sorry love!! I'm 31 & my big blue 80lb lapdog is 6. He's literally been by my side through hell and back! I don't care what anyone says NO MAN can give you the love a dog can. My best gf in Chicago has 3 Mastiffs and they're the most loving love bugs in the world. God bless your baby. Sometimes I wish mine could outlive me. He's my first and only dog ever. I got him at 7 week's old and to this day he sucks a blankie. Your beautiful! Pssshhhh!!!!

I don't want mine to out live me because I'd hate to have to haunt anyone not taking care of them the way they know idvwant them to be. I'd make them think they knew what scary ghost activity was!!!! Lol. Have you seen my Sam? He is blind. An amazing story behind his rescue. I am going to write a book about it someday. He is an incredible dog. Deals told me that you and tat live about 40 mins away from each other!!!! I was like "no sh!t man". I wish y'all lived closer to me!!!! We'd have a ball. Ha. @randirod okay which bag are you planning on using it with. The bucket is out. You have the papillon off because of whatever bs that ppl stir up, so first tell me what you plan on using it with. If you have it opened and hook turned out away from lock piece, you can just hang it from any metal connector, zipper, or just anything with an opening to slide the hook part on to let it dangle right there for a picture. You get the bag pic plus it shows the lock. I will grab mine in a sec and take another picture on the pap listing itself, then tag you. I've been super busy catching up. Have 2 phones and 2 laptops right here all in front of me. Multitasking. Ha. Love ya!

@randirod I've done that. It feels like your brain is about to explode. Kind of like I feel about now. You will crack up. I pulled one of the suede ties off as I was untying it on the hanger. I'll just send it to you. I can't fix it without making it look crazy bad. It can't be seen anyway, so just let me send it to you. What a nit wit but I'm sure glad I did it here. I don't think I wore the thing more than once ir that. It's a little big on my short frame. I am laughing still do hard.

@wesleymatch terribly exhausted but my days and nights are reversed. Long story....bf's mom is in between a move and staying here. She's disabled and the challenges are endless. He works at night thus us changing our days and nights to match his. It's really probably unnecessary now but you have to change back gradually or just wait and stay up through a cycle and then sleep the new one. Oh and get this......I am not even a good sleeper off the rip. I lay in a bed wide awake just dying to sleep. I need a vacation. And alone. ;-)

@anna_redbridge she got up and went to the bathroom and just about 30 mins ago yelled out to me that she needed to go to the hospital. She has decided that she can't get up off the toilet. I had no words. Some time had passed which I was sure eventually would be what would cure her attachment issues and then able to stand up. Oh no. It was not going to be so simple. Then I being asked if an ambulance was on its way to get her off and to the hospital. Okay am I having a really bad nightmare?

@anna_redbridge I finally told her I was going to call Josh and he was going to have to return home after leaving just about the time she got into the porcelain jaws from hell that she's asking for an ambulance to come here just to remove her from the sh itter? Well Josh has come and gotten her up and put into her bed as she sobs for him to get her to the hospital. Cont.....

@jacqueray Im so sorry Jacque....you need to get her into an assisted living place. You cant keep this up...or...call 911 like she requested. Maybe some social worker will help you find a decent place for her...its not healthy on anyone and certainly not a fair and comfortable situation. I m really concerned about you.

@anna_redbridge if i find an ambulance here which I discover has arrived and needing to get in to help someone who's called 911 frantically begging them to come help her unbearable pain, getting responded to with sirens on to give medical attention to as well as everyone in my neighborhood's attention, I'm going to call my own ambulance right before I'm certain puts me into uncontrollable panic which limits my ability to breathe and I just become despondent.

@anna_redbridge I will find myself being transported to the psychiatric facility, neighborhood all busy finding out what happened, Josh out of site and she on her way to the emergency room all because she decided she couldn't get up off of the toilet but has never been stuck to anything she's getting herself up from to go out to the garage so she is able to smoke which is not allowed in here. She is asleep now. Hopefully stuck to the bed. I'm going to hid behind my bedroom doors.

@anna_redbridge she won't stay in an assisted living facility and had already checked herself out of the nursing home that her physician would only release her to after she had done all the therapy and rehab that would get her to the best physical ability possible after her 4 strokes which started what we're trying to do for her now which is just back to a place that's livable and around people who need the same thing she does. Being missed if not seen in a day or two.

@anna_redbridge She isnt staying. No worries. They told Josh and her when they went to apply for an apt where Josh thinks she needs to go, she would be able to get moved in this next week on Wednesday or Thursday. I forgot if one was specifically planned for that day even. I love Sangria and could use one....I or 18. I just wasn't expecting to get this far and just steps away from done and her just begin such bizarre behavior.

@anna_redbridge she sleeps so bizarrely I'm not quite sure how it will be tonight, tomorrow at 4 am, or 8 pm nor what will happen Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday.....never ever. I won't do this again. I'm glad I offered and did all I could to help her. From here though, I don't believe I can adequately do what she needs to be done daily. Often during the day. I'm sorry if the assumption is I'll be open to future stays if needed. Hopefully it's never what I'm forced to respond to.

@anna_redbridge I'm going on up to my bedroom and just pray she stays put in the bed. The only problem is that if she needs to go use the bathroom she'll start in with it impossible to get up off of which I'm probably not going to hear upstairs. Or the other side will be thwt she is unable to get to the porcelain problem area in time or use go in the bed while she sleeps. I'm not sure which one will work out to be the best case scenario. Isn't that crazy? Chat soon miss fabulous!

@jacqueray oh good...if she goes next week, you'll be able to get some rest. Its hard to take care of someone in so much need of help...we are just not built for it...at least I know Im not!!! Please say a prayer to St. Francis for my senior kitty Miss Ebony Queen (top of my closet). She was recently diagnosed with kidney disease & is battling a wicked drug resistant infection. We're waiting for a culture to tell us exactly what this bug is...My other knucklehead Ozzie (named for Ozzy, because he's not right in the head) is in my closet too. He loves "helping" me Posh! Lol!💕

Thank you so much for all the work you do for animal rescue. My husband and I are advocates as well and we trained our sweetheart furbaby- the light of our life and ruler of the roost!- to be a therapy dog. One of the most fullfilling things I have ever done. @1hermitcrab he was one of the potbellys I rescued. He was a flea market purchase 🙄 for a child and the lady complained that he bit her. Well, yeah!!!!! He was probably looking for some milk. He was tiny and peach colored. Awful! I got the call from the Knox co shelter who took him in. I fed him all night long and throughout the day. He was huge! Haha Broke my heart when he left me. 😭😭. I'll make a listing for you with him. ❤️❤️

@1hermitcrab oh and Sam said to thank you. Rocky is not with us anymore. He was a senior when I rescued him and not broken. It shattered. I still mourn the loss. I told him to give me one year and he'll know I'm hid forever. He died one year and a week to the day after I took him. God that dog was precious. Blind Sam is freaking awesome too. We're going to see America. 😁
