closet_no9 @trendygirl501 aww thanks so much 🥰 . For taking photos: 1) my biggest tip is to use as much natural light as possible. It’s amazing how much better your photos will look in natural light.

closet_no9 @trendygirl501 For taking photos: 2) hanging clothes is easier and less tiring than taking pics of your clothes laying flat; and for the most part does a better job showing how the item hangs on the body if you don’t have a mannequin. Sometimes I might take a pic or two of something laying flat, but nowadays I definitely will hang an item for pictures.

closet_no9 @trendygirl501 For editing pics, I use apps/tools I can use through my phone (since I take all my pics with my phone). My tips: 1) definitely use the PhotoRoom app. This is how I get those stark white backgrounds. Sometimes the app doesn’t figure out very well what item you’re trying to isolate, so you can “erase” or “fill in” spots. You can shrink the size of the item too so in your phone’s regular photo editor, you can crop out the PhotoRoom watermark.

closet_no9 @trendygirl501 (tips for editing) 2) use Photoshop Fix by Adobe app. Some Poshers use similar apps, but this is the one I use. This app can remove “flaws” (ex a piece of fluff that landed on the clothing item lol, or weird lines and shadows that aren’t visible in person but are exaggerated or appear in the pic). You can colour correct, push things in or out etc as well. I use this app to try to get the item in the pic to look like what the item looks like in person.

closet_no9 @trendygirl501 (re: editing) 3) I use the photo editor that is part of my phone (I use an iPhone 8) for all that basic photo editing stuff - adjusting brightness, exposure, saturation etc; cropping; straightening, etc.

closet_no9 @trendygirl501 (Other tips) When taking pics keep in mind a) besides the obvious, I take pics of flaws, texture of the knit, etc). b) edit pics so that the item looks as close as possible to what it looks like in real life. When you take pics, the colour can be completely off in the photo, for example, so I adjust the colour in the pic to show what it’d looks like in person *in natural light*. I edit with my screen brightness on to full brightness.

closet_no9 @marierioux Thank you so much for the compliment and I’m so glad you still love the mugs! For my pictures I try as much as possible to have good natural lighting. It’s harder in the winter because it’s so cloudy most of the time though! I don’t use any filters but I do use the basic edits (brightness, contrast, etc) on my phone to capture the colours of the item as accurately as possible. Having a white background is good so I use my walls (which are off-white). (Continued)

closet_no9 @marierioux (continuation) I don’t have a white table so I use a piece of laminated wood I got from a hardware store and put it on a table and put my items on there for pics. If you want to get rid of the background you can use an app called PhotoRoom (I don’t use that much now though since it can be time consuming to do this for lots of photos).
